It maintains a flexible operating structure. The head office in Italy coordinates, supports and monitors the planned activities in the countries of intervention carried out by decentralised offices. The statutory bodies of INTERSOS, are: the Members Assembly, the Council, the Society for Auditing and Certification of Accounts.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: HR Junior Recruiter (Volunteer)

Location: Maiduguri (with frequent visit to field locations)

Main Purpose

  • Executes HR tasks, according to HR Manager and HR Coordinator’s indications and INTERSOS procedures, in order to ensure a fair, rapid and transparent Recruitment Process

Reporting to:

  • Hierarchical: HR Coordinator/HR Manager
  • Functional: HR Manager

Tasks

  • Support the HR Manager and the HR Admin Assistant in managing recruitment process according to INTERSOS rules and principles (job advertisement, CV screening, organization of test, interviews and reference check);
  • Be available to go the field locations regularly and perform any HR-related activities with main focus on recruitment and collection of HR documents;
  • Support the HR Manager and HQ for the preparation of personnel documentation for Audit purpose;
  • Be available to perform any other HR tasks assigned by HR Manager or HR Coord;

Job Title: Medical Activity Manager

Location: Maiduguri with frequent travel to Bama, Dikwa, Ngala and Magumeri LGA
Starting Date 01/09/2019
Contract Duration Until 12/09/2020
Reporting to Project Medical Referent (international staff)
Supervision of 5 Clinical Supervisors

General purpose of the position, responsibilities and tasks

General purpose of the position:

  • Defining, coordinating and monitoring the medical activities under his/her responsibility according to INTERSOS protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the delivery of quality medical care for patients and their communities as well as to improve the health condition of the target population

Main responsibilities and tasks:

  • Coordinating, assessing and supervising the proper functioning of the medical activities according to INTERSOS protocols, standards and procedures and through the correct compilation and analysis of medical data regarding patients health conditions
  • Participating in the definition of annual planning and budget for the project and in the follow up of the programs/project.
  • Supervising and ensuring that medical activities objectives under his/her responsibility are achieved, reporting to the technical referent any problem arising in the service
  • Checking all administrative procedures related to patients’ follow-up (card filling, registers, paper exit, discharge, transfers …) are carried out correctly and according to INTERSOS procedures
  • Ensuring an efficient pharmacy management and monitoring the rational use of drugs, supervising the appropriate use of medical devices and anticipating future needs. Preparing the medical orders needed to implement the medical activities under his/her responsibility, and identifying and reporting to the line manager, non-medical support needs (material,infrastructure, transport, etc.)
  • Coordinating and monitoring the daily working plan of the team under his/her responsibility (absent personnel, vacations, tracking leaves …). Participating in shifts and replaces a staff if necessary
  • Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication) of the staffs under his/her responsibility in order to improve staffs capabilities and to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
  • Participating in the monthly reports according to guidelines

Position requirements
Education:

  • Advanced university degree in Medicine or other paramedical studies. Desirable specialization in Tropical Medicine or a degree in Public Health

Professional experience:

  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience as Medical referent in the humanitarian sector especially in fragile and unstable environments

Professional requirements:

  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
  • Demonstrate experience with different donors compliance and reporting
  • Leadership, people management and development, teamwork and cooperation
  • Strategic Vision
  • Service Orientation
  • Understanding of humanitarian operations principles, standards and best practices
  • Languages Fluency in English
