Job Title: Head, Investment Research and Management

Job Description

  • Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be required to provide leadership to the Company’s investment management function, which encompasses investment research, portfolio strategy, construction and management.
  • This role involves the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities across different asset classes, development of suitable investment strategies in accordance with investment objectives and management of investment portfolios for mutual funds, high net worth and institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the process of undertaking independent research of investment opportunities across multiple asset classes and analysis covering both global and local macroeconomic trends
  • Prepare and oversee the production of research reports/presentations, reflecting outcomes of independent research/analysis
  • Develop financial models and projections to support investment decision-making
  • Prepare investment policy statements for all investment portfolios managed by the Company
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of strategies geared towards the attainment of stated investment objectives of portfolios
  • Implement agreed and approved portfolio strategy for investment portfolios
  • Regularly monitor and review the investment portfolios against the investment objectives and mandates
  • Work with business development executives to prepare investment management proposals for current and prospective clients
  • Collaborate with investment officers, operations officers, compliance and other relevant internal parties to coordinate trading and management of portfolios
  • Regularly meet with clients to discuss clients’ portfolios including portfolio, strategy and outlook.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field with a strong academic record
  • Professional certification(s) in Finance and/or Accounting from recognised professional bodies (e.g. CFA, ACA, ACCA).
  • A minimum often (10) years work experience in a similar role, with at least 4 years in a lead position
  • Deep knowledge of and interest in financial markets, as well as strong business and financial acumen
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Proven leadership, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent networking skills, particularly relationship- building and interpersonal skills

Job Title: Business Development Executive

Job Description

  • The Business Development Executive role covers marketing, sales, as well as client relationship building and management
  • Inherent in this will be to build and manage relationships, as well as sell the products/services of the company to existing and prospective private and institutional clients.

Specific responsibilities will be to:

  • Identify, develop and cultivate relationships with private and institutional investors, as well as initiate and follow up on new business opportunities
  • Prepare sales pitches, presentations, and other documents required for client engagement
  • Drive engagement and close sales with private and institutional prospects/clients
  • Leverage the Company’s existing relationships by developing and executing proactive, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives
  • Proactively manage client relationships and monitor the delivery of product/service proposition to clients
  • Assist in the development and launching of new products
  • Monitor industry trends and obtain necessary intelligence to be used as inputs for product development
  • Act as liaison between the company and existing/prospective clients.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • A minimum six (6) years professional working experience in similar role in such related fields as Sales, Marketing, Business Development and other client-facing roles in the Financial Services industry

Job Title: Investment Operations Officer

Job Description

  • The Company’s Investment Operations function focuses on two areas: administrative and operational processes relating to clients’ accounts; and coordination/management of the processes required to implement investment decisions and support the investment process
  • Thus, the Investment Operations Officer will be expected to provide valuable support to the client acquisition/management and investment management process.

Specific responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide client and fund/portfolio services such as on/off boarding of clients, attending to client enquiries, and maintaining all client related records
  • Conduct all the operations activities related to investment with prime focus on best execution of trades which accord with approved investment decisions and accurate settlement of trades
  • Produce various internal and external reporting including but not limited to client, regulatory, and management reports
  • Prepare and analyze daily/weekly/monthly operational reports and metrics including payment of approved fees and expenses
  • Liaise with counterparties such as Custodian, Registrars, and Brokers to ensure the smooth processing of transactions
  • Work with the Finance and Compliance functions to ensure compliance with ongoing regulatory requirements for investment funds and portfolios managed by the Company
  • Attend to and resolve queries from clients, regulators, and trade counterparties
  • Handle trade and account reconciliation
  • Identify problems and inefficiencies with various processes and develop and implement solutions.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • First Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related fields
  • A minimum of 5 (five) years experience in a similar function for an asset management company
  • Strong proficiency in the use of relevant line of business solutions and MS Office tools
  • Team player with the ability to think and act independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Quick leamer, comfortable dealing with ambiguous and fluid situations
  • Ability to multi-task, juggle multiple deliverables and perform under very demanding conditions
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make good decisions when faced with complex data
  • High level of passion, integrity, creativity, inquisitiveness and self confidence.
