Job Title: Help Desk and Administrative Support

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a degree in Information Technology, Management Information System or General Administration with 2 years experience.

 

Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Anyigba, Kogi

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems with 6 years experience, three (3) of which should be in a tertiary or related institution, and be registered with the relevant professional bodies.
  • Possession of professional globally acceptable certifications will be an advantage. A strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware, ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers and a deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired for this job.

Other skills must include:

  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access posits firewall routers switches controllers
  • KnowIedgeofa1i8bbn transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.

Job Title: Security Analyst

Location: Anyigba, Kogi

Responsibilities

  • Leading efforts to counter security breaches and anticipating and reducing the likelihood of future security alerts, incidents, and disasters.
  • Defining, planning, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading security measures, policies, and controls.
  • Writing reports and providing insights on the efficacy of the current security policies, incident responses, disaster recovery plans, and other security-related information.
  • Assisting with the creation of updates and training programs to secure the network and train the employees. Keeping the security systems up to date.
  • Monitoring security access and maintaining the relevant data.
  • Conducting vulnerability testing and risk analyses to assess security and performing internal and external security audits
  • Analyzing security breaches to identify the cause and to update incidence responses and disaster recovery plans.
  • Verifying and coordinating security plans with outside vendors.
  • Creating procedures for IT employees and training them in security awareness.

Requirements

The Security Analysts responsibilities include: securing online and on-premises infrastructures, filtering out suspicious activity, and finding and mitigating security risks before any breaches can occur. Working inter-departmentally to identify and correct any flaws in our security systems.

 

Job Title: Database Administrator

Location: Anyigba, Kogi

Responsibilities 
Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring systems performance and identifying problems that arise.
  • Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.
  • Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
  • Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
  • Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.
  • Suggesting changes and improvements for maintenance or protection.
  • Regularly liaising with IT project managers and database programmers.
  • Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.

Requirements

  • The computer Programmer’s duties will include managing systems performance, providing tech support, reviewing and updating existing programs, identifying and fixing defects, supporting data architecture, generating reports, developing in-house software and mitigating potential risk, task management and superior problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Job Description

  • To lead and direct the provision and delivery of ICT services throughout the University.

 

Educational/Professional Qualification/Work Experience

  • Candidates should possess a degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, with 10 years experience, five (5) of which should be in a tertiary or related institution, and be registered with the relevant professional bodies. Possession of professional globally acceptable certifications, will be an advantage.

In addition, the candidate should possess the following skills/capabilities:

  • Leadership and Management Skills
  • Implementing executive policies and ensuring strategic capacity planning
  • Financial skills including budgeting, forecasting, and justifying expenditures.
  • Analytical mindset to develop and utilize reliable metrics and overseeing
  • SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-based) metrics for hardware, software, and storage
  • Advanced literacy skills e.g. composition and presentation of reports, policies, strategy papers
  • Directing and supporting the implementation of new software and hardware
  • Identifying and recommending new technology solutions

  • Age: Applicants must not be more than fifty-five (55) years of age at the time of appointment

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of IT and communications professionals and provide strategic directions, develop and implement the ICT strategy and other policy documents, oversee support systems to a range of users across the University on 24 hours, 365 days a year, and supervise the CT business ventures.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of CT products and services, in accordance with agreed service and performance standards, industry best practice and in alignment with the University objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive the ICT collaborative agenda on behalf ofthe University, in conjunction with other local and foreign partners
  • Performance such other CT related duties as may be directed by the Vice Chancellor

Duration of Appointment
The appointment shall be for a single term of Five (5) years.

Conditions of Service

These are as approved by the Governing Council of the University and as may be modified from time to time.
