Human Leadership Resources – Our client, a leading Engineering company providing end-to-end engineering solutions across multiple divisions, is expanding her operations and now seeks to recruit a suitable candidate for the position below:

Job Title: General Manager, Business Development

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • This role is expected to support the current business expansion in the organization.
  • The incumbent will be a commercially driven and performance- oriented executive, with a strong penchant for success.
  • The role will oversee the existing divisions and report directly to the Chief Executive.

The Core Role Focus

  • Expand the company’s commercial activity, generating revenue that will lead to sustainable business growth.

 

Qualifications

  • A first Degree in any Social Sciences or Engineering Course.
  • A post Graduate or Professional Degree/Certifications.
  • A good degree in the Arts will be considered.

Experience:

  • The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial mindset and good leadership skills in addition to:
    • 5 years in Senior Management role that includes directing and training sales! marketing staff.
    • 5 years B28/ Corporate sales management experience.
    • Experience in developing short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Market research skills
    • Exposure to any of the sectors in Oil and Gas, Telecoms, ICT and Building Services Industry will be an added advantage.
    • Experience outside of major brand name companies will be aplus.
    • Ability to network with and maintain relationships with diverse sets of people.
    • Record of selling to or working in non structured environments.

The Role

  • Part of the Leadership team
  • Churning out strategies to penetrate new markets cutting across the verticals across the nation
  • Supporting the Management in the current organizational transformation by leading change
  • Overseeing day to day commercial operations, Pursuing new value adding businesses and ensuring long term sustainability of all commercial efforts.
  • Delivering on existing partnerships and establishing new partnerships Developing and implementing company wide commercial strategies in line with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Taking responsibility for the entire revenue portfolio of the business.
