Job Responsibilities
Operations:

  • Organises and performs on site the maintenance operations which are placed under his responsibility, With his teams assists specialists working under Specific Maintenance Contracts (SMC),
  • Ensures that COMPANY’s HSE regulations are respected (especially procedures related to Work Permits), as well as approved operating procedures and standard industry practice during performance of maintenance operations placed under his responsibility,
  • Ensures that all maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in strict compliance with company operating procedures and any relevant statutory legislation in order to maintain all such equipment in sound and safe operating condition.
  • Manages intervention reporting using the CMIMS, Enters intervention reports in the CMIMS (including those concerning SMC) and writes the technical reports related to his field, Monitors the functioning of systems placed under his responsibility,
  • Ensures that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs properly within his teams, and actively participates in this himself, Manages the team of technicians directly under his responsibility,
  • Carries out, at the CSR request, any intervention within his field of competence. Takes in charge the systems under his responsibility in case of breakdown until correct operation status is resumed.

Job Description

  • SPIE NIGERIA is currently looking for a QA/QC Welding Inspector based in PHC to support one of his key project.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and controls materials movements from / to offshore site or contractors’ bases.
  • Ensures that materials movements are efficiently and safely performed to satisfy the operational requirements in accordance with Company rules and procedures.
  • Follows up and controls materials movements to suit the requirements expressed by the offshore FPSO teams, the onshore sites based support team and coordinated by the Logistics supervisors;
  • Takes part in materials reception, inspection and acceptance.
  • Ensures that contractors’ materials to be loaded out to the field have valid colour coding as per the colour regimes in force at that time.
  • Ensures that all materials, especially lifting gears for load out to the field have valid inspection certificates.
  • Ensures that materials are delivered in time from the warehouse or the contractors bases;
  • Takes part in pre-mobilization inspection of contractors in conjunction with HSE teams, when required.
  • Coordinates with logistics and warehouse teams as well as with the contractor staff for that purpose;
  • Ensures that the equipment or the means of transportation are in accordance with the HSE standards and rules including the control of lifting means, etc…;
  • Takes part in materials reception for the materials received from outside and due to be sent to the offshore site;
  • Initiates technical control as necessary from suitable technical authorities or from the discipline engineers;
  • Initiates services requisition as necessary for the transportation, the repairs of materials as specified in the materials management procedures;
  • As per request, visit Suppliers / Subcontractors to ensure that materials that they will deliver meet specification requirement;

Profile
The holder of this position must have the following qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree holder and at least 5 years experience of stock control and warehousing with minimum 5 years experience in oil industry in operations.
  • Experience in Offshore construction, Installation, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning in an Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Industry preferably on an FPSO.
  • Shall be conversant with basic ethics aimed at controlling quality of works

Main Activities

  • To participate in the preparation & revision of the commissioning documentation.

Job Responsibilities
Your mission and responsibilities:

  • Understand regulation principles and be able to analyse them (differentiation in between cascade, split range, simple).
  • Understand basic logic concepts (AND/OR…).
  • Have a basic understanding of PCS, F&G, and ESD systems. Understand inhibit, alarm and trip concepts.

Equipment:

  • Understand working principle of basic instruments: level and interface level transmitters, thermocouples, manometers, vibration probes, metering devices (orifice plate, coriolis, turbine, volumetric).
  • Have basic knowledge in pneumatics and hydraulic distribution as well as electrical engineering (SOV, timer, relay…).
  • Understand manual and automatic valves (including PSV) principle and command (positioner…).
  • Be familiar with all types of F&G detection (fusible loop, UV/IR, gas, smoke);
  • Maintenance: Understand preventive, corrective maintenance and maintenance plan concepts. Have a basic knowledge of the CMMS (be able to issue a notification, read, interpret and complete work orders…). Be able on a given and simple preventive work order to prepare tools, identify spare parts and adapted procedure or work instruction.

Practical skills:

  • Know how to select and use the necessary hand tools. Properly operate, maintain and use the available set of workshop tools.
  • Correct use and handling of tubing, compression fittings, gaskets, “O” rings, cable glands…
  • Correct use and handling of multimeters, calibration unit, hydraulic pumps, deadweight tester, temperature bath, smart calibrator.

Maintenance know-how:

  • Be able to complete a loop test from a transmitter / valve, SOV, limit switch, etc… to input / output of PCS/SSS.
  • Be able to calibrate a valve positioner.
  • Gauges & transmitters (pressure, level, temperature and flow): be able to install, remove, calibrate, and test most common types of devices.
  • F&G detection: check, calibrate, test most common type of Fire & Gas detectors (be able to ensure inhibits are in place).
  • Safety at work
  • Be knowledgeable of electrical habilitation requirements and be certified as required.
  • Be aware of permit to work, electrical and mechanical isolations requirements. Be aware of gas test requirement.

  • Direct responsibility for the maintenance, operation and configuration of the hardware and software of the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and associated devices of all Packages within the AKPO Industrial Information System (SII),
  • Partial responsibility for the AKPO Safety Instrumented System,
  • Reports to the ICSS Administrator,
  • Is assisted by the Triconex Specialist.
  • The FPSO produces 160 kbopd of Oil and 600 mmscfd of Gas and has a storage capacity of 2,000,000 barrels.

Job Contents / Problem Solving (Activities)

  • HSE – Ensure that COMPANY’s HSE regulations are respected

Technical:

  • Maintain, operate, modify and perform routine tasks on the PLCs, HMIs, automation computers and Unit Control Panels (UCP) of all AKPO Packages located in the Hull and Topside of the FPSO as well as the Buoy, all located within the AKPO Field.
  • Carry out modifications on both hardware (input, output, communication cards etc) and software (control and safety logic, sequence logic etc) of all systems (compressors, pumps, oil & gas metering system, High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS), Tank Gauging System (TGS), Power Distribution Control System (PDCS), Telemetry System, machine monitoring system etc), under his responsibility as may be required, requested or directed by COMPANY.
  • Prepare with the ICSS Administrator, preventive and corrective actions and modifications of the systems under his responsibility.
  • Manage and document in technical reports, interventions using the CMIMS and work packs provided by the planning team.
  • Follow up the parameter values and alarms in the concerned systems under his responsibility and perform trouble shooting if required.
  • Control and apply inhibits in the systems as directed and controlled by COMPANY rules and procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate and auditable log of all system faults and inhibits (Short term and long term).
  • Take part in daily, weekly and coordination meetings on SITE,
  • Identify, in the preparatory stage of maintenance works, any sensitive operation and ensure that a proper assessment of the risks involved is carried out beforehand,
  • Identify recurrent corrective maintenance interventions, analyse them and suggest improvements, as well as problems related to availability, quality and obsolescence of spare parts.
  • Track any backlog of work in area of responsibility and suggest corrective measures to COMPANY and CONTRACTOR to improve the management of the backlog.
  • Review and assure that all Software Modifications and corrective actions are validated by COMPANY
  • Manages interventions using the CMIMS and work packs provided by the planning team,
  • Reviews all intervention reports in the CMIMS (including those concerning SMC) and writes the detailed technical reports related to his field,
  • Monitors (and in certain plant – Operates) the functioning of any equipment placed under his responsibility,
  • Performs trouble shooting in the ICSS, PLC, etc.
  • Follows up the Parameter values and alarms in the concerned systems for condition monitoring purposes,
  • Controls and applies inhibits in the systems as directed and controlled by COMPANY rules and procedures.
  • Maintains an accurate and auditable log of all system faults and inhibits (Short term and long term)
  • Takes part in daily, weekly and coordination meetings on SITE,

Profile
The holder of this post must have the following qualifications:

  • National Diploma or Certificate (ND / NC) or A-levels + 3 years’ further study or BTS / DUT or equivalent,
  • 6 years’ experience in the field of Control and Safety Systems and a minimum of 3 years as a Specialist in Control and Safety systems in the Oil and Gas / Petrochemical industry,
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas treatment process, installations and equipment. – Advanced knowledge and skill in PLC’s especially Siemens’ SIMATIC Industrial Automation Systems, Panels and HMI’s.
  • Knowledge of machine control (e.g compressor control, injection pump control, offloading pump control, turbine control) will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of general instrumentation concepts, field devices (sensors and final elements), instrument loops, etc.
  • Awareness of Emerson’s DeltaV Process Control System, Allen Bradley’s ControlLogix System and Schneider’s Triconex Safety Instrumented Systems are an added advantage.
