Job Title: Project Accountant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Department: Finance & Accounts

Job Summary & Purpose

  • This role must ensure accurate reporting and analysis of Project’s financial transactions.
  • It will also be responsible for effectively managing the project’s financial resources as well as recommending strategies for managing operational costs and ensuring profitability of the project.
  • Timely, accurate and regular reporting of project’s performance is an integral part of this role.

  • Reports to: Group Head, Human Resources and Office Services

    • Deputy Head, NCDMB, Learning and Development
    • Learning Management System Administrator

Internal Relationships:

  • Group finance
  • Procurement

External Relationship:

  • Project Manager
  • Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Project Manager to develop project budget in line with project schedules.
  • Review the project budget with the financial controller (FC).
  • Prepare and present periodic reports on performance of the project.
  • Prepare and present reports on profitability of the project, investigate and report on variances of project revenue and costs.
  • Ensure project cost is monitored regularly to avoid over spends, Ensure the cost incurred is commensurate to level of activities.
  • Ensure timely issuance of invoice upon completion of milestone & follows up to ensure inflows are received for pending receivables.
  • Prepare funding request, to be jointly reviewed by the Project Manager based on needs of the project.
  • Ensure funds released for projects are properly managed.
  • Ensure applicable taxes are deducted from vendors invoices and ensures remittance of taxes are made as at when due.
  • Ensure accuracy and periodic reviews of all project related payables with account payable team and financial controller.
  • Ensure that all project activities (Revenue, costs, receivables, receipt) are properly captured into the accounting software.
  • Ensure accuracy and periodic review of project billings/receivable and accrued revenue/value of work done with project manager and Financial controller.
  • Ensure that receivable reconciliation is done on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Person Specifications

  • Academic Qualification: First Degree in Finance/ Accounting / Economics
  • A Post graduate degree will be an added advantage
  • Professional Qualification: Relevant professional qualification e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA)
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Exposure to Construction or Oil & Gas industry will be an added advantage.

  • A thorough knowledge of standard contract terms and how they are applied in the billing process.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
  • Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to the Project Manager or Financial controller, as necessary.

Job Title: Web / Application Manager

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The candidate will manage the Web / application unit by ensuring that the development aligns with standards and ensure due diligence. The staff will also be in the capacity to relieve the head of department.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business owners to understand the objective of their request.
  • Define Omni-channel applications strategy, roadmaps, database of business request.
  • Define and justify projects.
  • Oversee and manage solution delivery.
  • Lead and direct team of developers.
  • Maintain and enhance applications which includes payment gateway, self-service portal and business process portals.
  • Ensure issues reported on IT Helpdesk are fixed within the set time of delivery
  • Work with internal customers to develop applications and provide support to them, thereby contributing to the efficient operation of the work.
  • Work with vendors where necessary and ensure their code is developed to standards and that high-quality documentation is supplied to enable successful implementation and subsequent in-house maintenance of the systems.
  • Ensure all codes developed is of a high quality, is maintainable, change managed and fully documented.
  • Ensure all codes are scanned for vulnerability and threat of attack
  • Collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans.
  • Responsible for the complete development lifecycle of software systems; including gathering requirements, database management, software development, testing, implementation, user follow up, support and Project Management.
  • Works on special IT projects as needed.
  • Responsible for the prioritization of projects assigned to the Application Development team.
  • Responsible for the Integrity, Maintenance and changes to the Application Development Servers and Databases. (DBA)

Academic Qualification

  • Must have B.Sc in Computer Science
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience or more

Job Title: Senior Application Support Analyst

Location: Lagos

Job Summary
The resource should be able to demonstrate competent IT literacy around applications and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the core ERP application and other applications in the company.
  • Identify and implement workarounds for customer incidents.
  • Implement bugs and patches to all applications.
  • Proactively enable 2nd line support to resolve incidents without undue escalations.
  • Be proactive in improving monitoring, alerting and end to end testing on applications.
  • Handle escalated calls 2nd level on all applications.
  • Undertake IT application-related problem diagnosis, implementing problem resolution or prevention measures as appropriate.
  • Monitor the availability, performance and throughput of supported IT applications.
  • Maintain IT application support technical documentation.
  • Participate in disaster recovery activities as required.
  • Implement, test and monitor required application changes in line with change implementation plans.
  • Understand and comply with the IT organisation requirements, processes, procedures and policies.
  • Implement, test and monitor required IT application changes in line with change implementation plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications
