Job Title: MEP Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Communicate with MAR&MOR Field Supervision, Subcontractors and Vendors to assist them in working to the Project Schedule as it pertains to MEP’s
  • Represent MAR&MOR with Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors
  • Administer financial aspects of the Owner’s contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and the MAR&MOR project team member Project Start-Up
  • Review the general contract and contract documents and confirm the budget setup and project milestones in conjunction with Project Lead
  • Create a schedule of values and project logs, plan for project safety and mobilization, including review and validation with team members
  • Purchasing process and document control
  • Maintain the buy schedule, write scopes of work, distribute and log subcontracts, write required contract riders and purchase orders, and confirm compliance with project insurance requirements
  • Review subcontractor references, obtain Subcontractor bonds, and maintain project files
  • Maintain and manage all purchase and delivery schedules, change order processes, shop drawings, document control logs, Owner, Architect and Subcontractor correspondence
  • Work with Purchasing in setting up/executing trade buyout including: defining scope of work, authoring Exhibit B’s, ensuring scope coverage, coordinating buy and project schedules

Requirements

  • Minimum of 9 years post NYSC experience in managing MEP projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be an added advantage.

Job Description

  • MEP Engineer is a single -level professional classification responsible for planning and design in the area of Mechanical, Electrical and plumbing (MEP) system including developing policies standard, inspection procedure and evaluation tools for MEP matters along with prepare, review drawing, specification and cost estimates for the mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
  • Working as part of the project management team, reporting to the Project Director, MEP Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the project relating to building services.
  • The role includes the management of the MEP team to ensure that the day to day duties are performed professionally and expeditiously to support the ongoing progress of the project.
  • The MEP team on site consists of the Lead Mechanical (MEP) Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and MEP Inspectors.

General Responsibilities

  • Review plans and specification according to plan and manage to oversee the work of subordinate staff contact architects or Engineer.
  • Prepare plans, details, specified and cost estimated of plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and general piping system.
  • Provide technical advice to staff designer, supervisor, inspector and contracting service provider, regarding installation and maintenance of MEP System.
  • Identify problems in design, plan, manage and deliver multiple projects.
  • Must have a knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD and Project management software.
  • Prepare and deliver effective oral presentation whenever required.
  • Continually review the contractor’s construction schedule during the progress of site works with regards to MEP services and report to the Project Manager on the same.
  • In conjunction with the document controller, ensure that the filing/logging of the MEP documentation is undertaken in line with the project handbook and continually monitor the same.
  • Review Contractor’s installation method statements.
  • Review Contractor’s shop drawings against the design [tender] drawings for compliance with the design intent and return to Project Manager with appropriate comments/approval within the specified contractual period.
  • Review Contractor’s proposed subcontractor(s) associated with the engineering works from a technical standpoint.
  • Monitor and promote health and safety on the site. Record and report any breaches to the Project Manager. If required stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.
  • Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.
  • Undertake a prior review of the Contractor’s proposed mechanical system testing & commissioning methods and schedule.
  • Witness on-site piped system pressure test, air conditioning duct leakage testing and other testing that may be required during the first fix works and advise the Project Director accordingly.
  • Review and comment on Contractor’s testing and commissioning results and advise the Project Manager accordingly.
  • Maintain an on-going list of mechanical services defects for contractor’s remedial action.
  • Undertake final project snagging and prepare a list of defects for Contractor’s action.
  • Attend project, site progress and any mechanical services related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
  • Provide advice to the Project Manager in regard to any mechanical services related to variable costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works.

MEP Engineer Qualifications/Requirements

  • B.Sc, B.Tech / HND or M.Sc. (or its equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering from a reputable and accredited higher institution of learning.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be an added advantage.

  • Under supervision, engages in highly technical systems design with complete knowledge of all aspects of most every Physical Security System, involving a significant group of sub-systems under the physical security function.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Title: Certified Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

  • A maintenance technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures.
  • They ensure that heating and plumbing systems perform at optimum functionality, the installations HVAC and, the upkeep of the landscape.

  • Assist with engineering design project planning (i.e. conceptual design through construction drawing development).

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
