Job Description

  • Ensure all bales conform to agreed standards of compression and bales are of good quality
  • Manually load all other diaper waste into the Baler.
  • Operate stretch wrap machine and ensure all bales are properly wrapped.
  • Remove all bales to designated storage area by means of clamp truck.
  • Knows and actively participate in all work and repairs which are carried out in his/her sector by the support teams
  • Reports and informs team leader of the maintenance and improvement required of his sector.
  • During shift changes, communicates to the incoming operator all new occurrences, repairs, process changes and materials issues.
  • Informs team leader when waste bins require emptying.
  • Complies with all safety rules, procedures and works instructions applicable to area of responsibility.
  • Maintains a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene in the entire Central Systems area, waste canopy and waste bin area and follow 5S Housekeeping principles.
  • Checks that consumables that enter his/her sector correspond with the requirements of the product being disposed.
  • Ensure efficient operations of the Diaper Cull, Trim Balers and the Briquetter
  • Ensure Balers are set at agreed setting and ensure basic maintenance tasks and check sheets are done.

Qualifications

  • Prior high-speed production machine maintenance or operating experience, especially on Diaper machines will be advantageous.
  • Forklift Driver Licence or the ability to acquire licence within 3 months
  • National Diploma ND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience on high-speed production equipment, of which at least 2 years must be process experience.

Job Description
Safety:

  • Ensure compliance to all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations.  All non-conformances should be dealt with immediately all unresolved issues must be raised with Asset Leader.  Follow the correct WI/WP and Process Instruction for all tasks performed. Carry out continual development of process optimization to ensure safety.

Productivity:

  • Work with change over’s on the asset in order to minimise change over delay
  • To continuously work on improvement plans to upgrade/improve the asset performance and capability.
  • Ensure all documentation, including drive and PLC data is recorded properly and systematically to provide optimum reliability of the asset.
  • To support production within the diaper operation by providing electrical technical support to the production teams.
  • To carry out action plans as directed in order to solve problems thereby minimizing electrical delay.
  • Analyse electrical delay and together with Day Electrical Technician resolve problems from electrical/electronic nature to ensure minimum delay.

Maintenance:

  • Recommend spares requirements to the Electrical Engineer.
  • Provide technical information to maintenance teams detailing work requests for planned and reactive maintenance
  • To participate in maintenance activities on all electrical equipment and installation.
  • To ensure that electrical spares are available and ready for use when required.
  • To provide assistance with standardisation, recommendation of changes in maintenance policies, fault finding and problem solving.

Housekeeping:

  • Maintain 5S housekeeping principles in the department at all times, including all equipment and surrounds.  Ensure all unused items are removed from the operating area and stored correctly.

Qualifications

 

  • Prior high-speed production machine maintenance or operating experience, especially on Diaper machines will be advantageous.
  • PC Literate
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on high-speed production equipment, of which at least 3 years must be process experience.

 

Job Title: Technical Stores Operator

  • Check MB51 report to confirm correct capturing of invoices/material requests
  • Review internal controls procedures when required.
  • Scrutinize dispatch notes for stock and non-stock send out for repairs / replacement.  Follow up with end users for PR  /PO numbers.  Close of document once item is returned
  • Report back to Engineering Manager on a monthly basis regarding out of stock issues (Complete a document for each incident and attach relevant communication and corrective action taken).  This includes the MB51 checks and issues picked up with MR/Invoices
  • Do 5 daily spot checks on stock delivered – Report to Engineering Manager monthly.
  • Do a regular checks on material request to confirm bin cards are updated (Use MR’s submitted with MB51) – Report to Engineering Manager monthly
  • Attend weekly meetings regarding: Safety & Housekeeping / HR issues / Cycle counts / Receiving / Out of stock issues / General
  • Promptly processing of customer requests to amend item descriptions, review stock levels & timeout ordering of additional materials for shutdown purposes.
  • Stock transfers via Transaction SAP code from duplicated items & subsequent request to OTS Europe to delete items.
  • Review customer request for re-instatement of items and subsequent communication to OTS to De-flag.
  • Scrutinizing material Records for duplicate records, incorrect base units of measure, incomplete description & incorrect material types.
  • Process request for re-classification of items e.g. Standard spares to reparable item and forward to Store leader for loading.
  • Arrange the de-flagging of items to enable processing of corrections required by casting, followed by requesting deletion.
  • Routing all material master amendments to Store Leader for capturing.
  • Verifying entries on SAP to ensure accuracy.
  • Daily stock records & reporting
  • Maintain SAP records by updating bin allocations / part numbers / descriptions / min & max levels
  • Assist team members with queries.

  • Perform modular process health checks in-line with center-lining guidelines.
  • To analyze breakdowns and failures, downtime, reliability of equipment, identify problem nodes, if possible, to eliminate inconsistencies.
  • Compile all area issues and reasons for stops and provide a proper update at the support meeting
  • Lead and actively participate in all work and repairs which are carried out in FCO section by the support teams
  • Initiate and ensure proper maintenance and improvement of area equipment.
  • Adjust the schedule of planned maintenance in the event of an emergency equipment failure and investigate the incident with a precautionary plan.
  • Ensure equipment and area centre-line is maintained at all times
  • Timely provide update on the changes and improvements made to operating teams and shift technicians
  • To provide clarifications and training for operators and contractors on how to carry out work and operation of equipment safely, and to carry out repairs.
  • Lead changeover activities of area equipment and ensure work is completed without rework.
  • Complies with all safety rules, procedures and works instructions.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene in the department and follow 5S Housekeeping principles.

  • Build the capability of area operators through regular coaching.
  • To monitor the availability of spare parts in the warehouse and, if no specific parts are found, immediately notify the mechanical engineer
