Transcend Consulting Services is currently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager / Operations Manager

Location: Lagos



  • A University degree in Hotel Management or a related field with Experience in opening, managing or re-positioning a hotel/lounge with clear track record. Excellent computer system skills.
  • MBA will be an advantage.


  • Nigerian or Foreigner who must have worked in a 5 Star Hotel as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Must have at least 7 Years Experience in the hospitality industry and has a good rapport with hotel booking departments of various local and international companies who do long stay hotel bookings.
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or relevant role.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Top level managerial experience with an eye for details.
  • Candidate must have Executive Presence.
  • Able to put a system in place to ensure quality control.
  • A good knowledge of the local market.

Job Responsibilities

  • The General Manager / Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the hotel and provide the direction for the hotel; He will also guide the employees to work as a well-functioning team.
  • He must be a team player and a result oriented leader.
  • Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and take decisions accordingly.
  • Responsible for Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOPТs, policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Hold regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments.
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management
  • Handling complaints, and oversee the service recovery procedures
  • Maximizing room yield and hotel / lounges/ bar revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
  • Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
  • Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
  • Lead in all aspects of business planning.
