Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Driving the company’s HR administration, by reviewing policies as they relate to staff handbook, appraisal, targets and KPIs, employee discipline, and promotions and raises.
  • Orienting new employees by providing orientation information packets; reviewing company policies; gathering withholding and other payroll information; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit programs.
  • Documenting human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Accomplishing human resources department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Performing administrative duties and functions requiring confidentiality, initiative, and sound decision-making.
  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating meetings and all associated logistics, department and off-site meetings, external group other events.
  • Administering  benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor of Laws
  • 6+ or more years relevant experience in an executive support/ human resource role at a high corporate level.
  • Prioritizes tasks and meets deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong problem solving.
  • Independently explores and learns about the company, the role and how to get things done in a complex environment.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Personal Management.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of labor Law and HR practices

Job Title: Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Coordinator

Job Ref.: HCC / 001 / MEP
Location: Lagos
Type: Contract (3 – 6 months)
Job Category: Experienced

Summary / Objective

  • Although, the project is near completion, The MEP Coordinator would be managing operations in the area of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, piping, and fire protection design and installation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing sequences of installation for mechanical and electrical components
  • Establishing milestones for completion of various systems to allow sufficient time for pre-testing and testing
  • Establishing testing schedule for each subcontractor’s individual components leading up to coordinated testing of systems involving several contractors
  • Establishing shop drawing and submittal schedules and see to their maintenance and follow-up.
  • Review space coordination among trades such as duct and piping layouts, beam penetration requirements, headroom clearances, etc.
  • Preparation of mechanical and electrical preliminary estimates
  • Review subcontractor budgets, scope sheets, qualifications, exclusions, etc.
  • Preparation of preliminary schedules
  • Review subcontract proposals for scope, price and compliance with general contract

Qualifications and Requirments

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Science or equivalent work experience
  • Proven work experience as a Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Coordinator
  • Able to work with multiple stakeholders to identify and resolve complex issues as it relates to MEP design and construction
  • Ability to run complex meetings with multiple attendees, issue minutes promptly and follow up with participants for deliverables.
  • Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and the integration of same with mechanical, electrical, building systems
  • Good understanding of the test and balance process and requirements
  • Good understanding of building automation systems and sequences as it relates to MEP
  • Good understanding of MEP related safety regulations
  • Strong ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with clients and architects is required.
  • Extensive knowledge with respect to MEP scopes of work.
  • Possess some knowledge and experience with non-MEP trade scopes of work.
  • Experience with the following software is preferred; Excel, Navisworks, and Bluebeam or Adobe.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering concepts and applicable codes.

 

Job Title: Project Manager

Job Ref.: HCC / 005 / PRM
Location: Lagos
Type: Contract (3 – 6 months)
Job Category: Experienced

Summary / Objective

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project, ensuring the management of time and resources towards the timely completion of the project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
  • Completing detailed examinations of design plans and ensuring specifications uphold the highest possible standards for quality (e.g. ensuring construction documents are of complete detail and scope to address critical issues such as code compliance, constructability, noise transmission, waterproofing, etc.).
  • Monitoring and Managing the project schedule throughout the pre-construction and construction periods by overseeing the third-party General Contractor and coordinating project interactions and schedules with both internal departments and external consultants (e.g. Architect or BIM consultant).
  • Performing additional duties and handling projects as assigned by the Development Director; achieve regular attendance in conformity with standards.
  • Negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Determining needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.

Qualifications and Requirments

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with preference given to Construction Management, Structural / Civil Engineering, Building Construction or Architecture
  • Experience in construction management, project management; with preference given to commercial and/or residential multifamily developments
  • 7+ years related experience in construction.
  • Track record of proven techniques and practices of project management and construction supervision over various aspects of design and construction phases for relevant projects.
  • Successful start to end completion of large-scale project.
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, BOQs.
  • Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Background in reviewing Architectural and Engineering drawings to ensure specifications and regulations are followed is preferred.
  • Must be able to manage budgets, timelines and construction schedules with an extreme attention to detail, and grade a quality
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and management
  • Must possess good business judgment; an understanding of legal issues and contracts
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, residents, and the general public.
  • Computer proficient in Windows, MS Program, Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD and the Internet. Ability to type 40+ wpm.
  • Must be able to effectively supervise outside vendors in a manner that supports the firm’s goals, timeframes and expectations. This includes demonstrated acumen in negotiation of contracts and terms
  • Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, construction procedures, estimating and scheduling practices.
  • Ability to accommodate changing priorities and manage expectations accordingly.
