Pro-Health International is a faith-based, non- profit organization that has provided free health care services to under-served populations in Nigeria and Africa for over 27 years.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Data Visualization Specialist

Location: Adamawa
Project: Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award (ICHSSA4)

Introduction
Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award (ICHSSA 4) is a – five year, USAID – funded project (December 2019 to November 2024). The project is designed to reduce the impact of Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) on orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Adamawa and Bauchi states respectively.

ICHSSA is implemented by Pro Health International (PHI) in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), alongside Civil Society Organizations responsible to case management at the community and household levels. ICHSSA 4 will ensure that OVC are cared for and protected by their households, communities, local and state governments. The project will also ensure that communities promote child and family-friendly, gender and HIV sensitive cultural norms and practices.

Qualifications

  • This role requires an independent self-starter with a strong affinity for numbers and quantitative data
  • An interest in OVC programming is a plus
  • Familiarity with visual journalism would also be helpful.

We are seeking candidates with:

  • A minimum of three to four years of experience in data visualization
  • Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge such as layout, typography, color, interaction design and fluency with Adobe tools.
  • Strong cartography skills.
  • Expertise with charting and other data visualization techniques.
  • Excellent analytic, organisational and computer skills in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and ability to interpret and analyse large volumes of data using data analysis tools such as STATA, SPSS, PowerBi, or any other data management tools.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The specialist will contribute compelling graphics, charts and multimedia visuals to enhance ICHSSA-4 print and digital content, primarily focused on data from program implementation and other relevant sources.

The Data Visualization Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Creating and editing visual content including maps, charts, and graphs.
  • Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals.
  • Providing visual, technical and editorial guidance.
  • Working closely with the program and M&E teams to help promote ICHSSA-4 contents including reports, briefs, commentary and visual data.
  • Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasionally represents the project in making presentations on program data before stakeholders and the donor.

Reporting Line and Collaboration:

  • S/he will report to the Director of Strategic Information and working closely in collaboration with the Database specialist and support design of projects ranging from charts and graphs to maps and tables.
