Job Title: Receptionist (Maternity Cover)

Location: Abuja
Job Type: Temporary

Overview

  • The Front Desk Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the Jhpiego reception / front office including ensuring cleanliness, functioning phone system, maintaining telephone contact information, and ensuring prompt and timely assistance to all visitors and vendors
  • As the first contact for the organization’s visitors, the Front Desk Assistant is expected to be professional, courteous, smart, prompt and pleasant
  • The Front Desk Assistant will also assist with other front office functions like sending / receiving couriers, ensuring mail is picked from the post office and other office support tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Jhpiego staff in the office and ensure efficient and prompt operation of the reception and front office in general.
  • Manage the PABX / Intercom system and ensuring that all PABX problems are reported promptly to Admin.
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing mail register to manage all incoming and outgoing correspondences.
  • Maintain and manage Invoice Register for both Country Office invoices and State offices invoices
  • Receive all invoices, document and send invoices to Admin.
  • Issue and receive vehicle request form and forward request to Admin for processing.
  • Maintain telephone contact list with phone contact information for all Jhpiego partners, stakeholders and others associated with the program.
  • Ensure that the reception area is clean and promptly receive and assist visitors.
  • Ensure that all in-coming mail and deliveries (documents such as proposals, invoices etc.) are correctly distributed and in a timely manner. Ensure that all Abuja and International out-going mail is correctly addressed, recorded and all mails (Abuja and international) are sent out on time and collected promptly by courier company staff.
  • Ensure that all visitors to Jhpiego from Baltimore and other/overseas country offices receive the guest cell phone for use while in country. Jhpiego Nigeria office staff contacts should be given to the guest for easy access
  • S/he should also ensure that all these staff numbers are keyed in the cell phone
  • S/he should then ensure the cell phone including all its accessories are returned before the guest departs.
  • Responsible for conference room booking and setting up and other logistics prior to meetings/training events.
  • Report First Aid Box information to the Admin Manager for necessary action.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Secretariat Studies, Business Management and related profession.
  • 1 – 2 years experience
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience as a Front Desk Officer is added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in a busy office within the private sector especially with an international organization
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to operate and use a PABX phone system
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.

Job Title: Consultant – Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

Locations: Akwa Ibom / Cross River, Lagos and Rivers

Overview

  • With financial support from Unitaid via Population Services International, Jhpiego is implementing Phase 3 of the STAR Initiative, a 18-month project to catalyze HIVST adoption, availability, and use in Nigeria.
  • Through the Unitaid-funded STAR Initiative, HIV self-testing (HIVST) has proven to provide an opportunity to reach, test, and diagnose or prevent infection in populations that are considered unreachable by use of traditional testing approaches. In Nigeria, STAR will support the Government of Nigeria to develop and adapt policy guidelines for the adoption of HIV self-testing and support the integration of HIV self-testing within the existing health care systems.
  • The Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant (Consultant) will work with key Implementing Partners in assigned state to ensure coordination and seamless reporting of project performance indicators.
  • The successful candidate will also support Data quality assurance efforts including periodic supportive supervision, data validation and data quality audits, in partnership with relevant stakeholders in the state.

Responsibilities
Successful candidate will work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Strategic Information Advisor, and other project staff. Specific roles/responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with backstops/IP SI person to collate monthly summary forms
  • Responsible for data entry into project-specific DHIS2
  • Support the provision of training, supervision and mentorship to strengthen for data quality from distribution sites
  • Strengthen the use of data at state, facility, and community level for program monitoring and improvement
  • Responsible for liaising with other private sector partners, including CBOs
  • Responsible for liaising with the state and IPs to ensure quality data generation from the facilities/sites
  • Work closely with state HIVST Officer to ensure coordination of program activities at the state.
  • Represent STAR Nigeria in relevant meetings at the state level as delegated
  • Ensure smooth working relationship between STAR and partner IPs at the state level
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the SI Advisor and M&E Officer

Qualifications/ Competencies

  • A degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences or other related disciplines.
  • At least, two years’ experience with HIV M&E programs
  • Good computer skills, especially working knowledge of MS word and Excel
  • Experience in facilitating the dissemination and use of data for decision-making
  • Good data management and analysis skills
  • Excellent and working knowledge of electronic medical records, DHIS2 etc.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Good facilitation and training skills
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and independently
  • Successful candidate must possess a functional laptop

Job Title: HIVST Officer

  • HIVST Officer will ensure sustainable, high quality and client-focused HIVST services utilizing a total market approach with the community (linkage to prevention, treatment and care services) in line with national requirements and standards.
  • S/he will ensure uninterrupted supply of commodities and develop strategies to strengthen referrals between community-based HIVST points and the relevant health facilities for appropriate referral of clients.
  • S/he will also be responsible for ensuring a functional referral linkage system.

Responsibilities

  • Overall implementation of HIVST at the state level
  • Lead State-level advocacy and support to SMOH and IPs on HIVST
  • Coordinate and engage with the private sector (pharmacy and PPMVs) to implement the total market approach
  • Lead in the coordination of community-based HIVST for the target population of interest with the district.
  • Collaborate for the successful roll-out and implementation of HIVST for target populations.
  • Work to establish and strengthen effective referral linkage between community outreach services and care and treatment facilities.
  • Collaborate with district reference laboratories to implement proficiency testing and other diagnostic quality assurance.
  • Contribute to development of project strategies, work plans and budgets
  • Produce and ensure timely submission of monthly program activity reports to the Project Director.
  • S/he provides HIVST to priority populations according to the national HIV testing protocols and guidelines
  • S/he establishes and strengthens good working relationship with other implementing partners and stakeholders.
  • S/he ensures that HIVST quality assurance practices are always performed at all times according to the national requirements.
  • S/he performs any other duty as assigned by the Project Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Health Sciences, Medical Sciences or Public Health.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with HIV/AIDS program implementation, working with public and NGO sectors is required
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word processing and database management
  • Good strategic, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively with key stakeholders especially relevant government partners, implementing partners and CSOs.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Good strategic and analytical thinking and ability to interpret public health and epidemiological data
  • Familiarity with UNITAID regulations is an added advantage.
