The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Who May Apply/Clarification From the Agency:

Summary – The work schedule for this position is:

  • Full Time (40 hours per week)
  • Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

  • The incumbent supports the American Supervisory General Services Officer (S/GSO) and American Assistant General Services Officer (A/GSO) in providing and overseeing a full range of services in support of the International Cooperative Administrative Support Services (ICASS) GSO structure to the 7 agencies and their 85 American Direct Hires, 18 Eligible Family Members and over 310 Locally Employed Staff positions represented at U.S. Consulate General Lagos. Incumbent reports directly to the S/GSO.

Requirements, Qualifications and Evaluations
Experience:

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting, administrative and secretarial experience is required

Education:

  • At least two (2) years of full-time college or university studies in Secretarial Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences or Arts is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of commercial business administration standards in office administration and maintenance is required. Knowledge of accounting procedures and methods is required.

Evaluations – This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.

Language:

  • Fluency speaking / reading / writing English is required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have strong computer skills ad be proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 products – Excel, Outlook and Word. Must have strong customer relations and customer service skills. Organizational skills are required.

Benefits
Agency Benefits:

  • Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Lagos, Nigeria may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
  • For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
  • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

Hiring Preference Selection Process:
