Job Title: Chef

Location: Jibowu, Yaba – Lagos

Job Summary

  • Responsible for all food production including that used for quick service restaurant, buffet & private functions and wholesale distribution.
  • Develop menus, food purchase specifications, recipes and junior level staff supervision.
  • Develop and monitor food and labor budget for the department. Maintain highest professional food quality and sanitation standards.

Job Description

  • Prepare awesome meals for our customers
  • Work well under pressure and within the time limit
  • Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout the kitchen area at all times
  • Help lead and inspire our kitchen staff with the Kitchen Operations Manager
  • Develops standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation which help to assure consistently high quality
  • Weigh, measure, mix and prep ingredients according to recipes
  • Deliver on turnaround service delivery
  • Check food and ingredients for freshness
  • Arrange and garnish dishes

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum of SSCE certificate
  • Qualification in Culinary Arts from an accredited culinary school is preferred
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience as a Cook in a QSR or commercial kitchen, with 3 years as a senior cook
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and process management skills
