We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Case Writer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The Case writer will work closely with faculty members – subject experts – to write and develop cases and technical notes.

Key Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional writing expert in developing cases and technical notes
  • Provide regular work-in-progress based on an agreed timeline
  • Consult relevant standard references to ensure adherence to the required quality of cases publishable in targeted case publishing houses, such as the Harvard Case Publishing
  • Conduct secondary research to properly position a case and ensure that necessary questions are included in the interview guide, particularly questions that border on issues that are not available in the public space
  • Acquire necessary information about companies or protagonists for case writing
  • Manage case production timelines and budgets.
  • Where necessary, attend and administer interview questions together with or without faculty
  • Develop a teaching note for a case
  • Attend and participate in sessions to obtain feedback from students and directly provide feedback to faculty to enhance the quality of cases
  • (S)he shall review cases, teaching notes, and technical notes written by faculty and provide input that will improve quality and standards.
  • (S)he shall ensure that the case protocol is strictly adhered to and all quality requirements are met before a case or technical note is published.
  • (S)he will be responsible for regular case writing seminars and workshops for faculty and research assistants.
  • In addition to organising seminars and workshops, shall, regularly, follow up with faculty writing cases to provide assistance on best writing approaches and strategies
  • The case writer shall be the custodian of research code of conduct with respect to case writing and ensure that all authors follow the school’s research codes of conduct before final approval for case publication is given.
  • (S)he shall generate case leads and discuss with subject expert faculty.
  • Where necessary, s(he) shall maintain communication with the case subject company or protagonist.

Qualifications

  • A BSc holder in management / basic sciences or related discipline from a reputable institution.

Experience:

  • At least three years’ experience in a business writing capacity.

Job Title: Case Freelance Writer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The Case Freelance Writer engages professional expertise to rework case contents and ensure that the overall quality of cases improves significantly and meets the international standards as well.

Key Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Apply journalistic writing approach to improve the quality of teaching cases, teaching notes, and technical notes written by faculty members
  • Apply journalistic writing approach to improve the quality of faculty’s articles and other academic writings that will be published in high impact journals.
  • If necessary, s(he) shall conduct media and business research to achieve the above.
  • Provide regular work-in-progress and, in the process, obtain useful feedback from subject faculty to further clarify the direction of publications.
  • Consult relevant standard references to ensure adherence to the required quality of cases publishable in targeted case publishing houses, such as the Harvard Case Publishing.
  • Conduct secondary research to obtain useful information that will improve the overall quality of teaching cases.
  • Review and provide editorial inputs for teaching cases, notes and journal articles
  • Ensure that learning and teaching objectives, as stated in the teaching cases and notes are achievable.
  • Manage case and journal article development timelines.

Requirements
Qualifications:

  • A B.Sc Degree in Management, Social Sciences or any related discipline from a reputable institution

Experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in journalism or business writing.
