Job Title: Sales Team Lead

Responsibilities
Leadership / Supervisory Role:

  • Develop weekly / monthly /annual and seasonal sales plan for the department, examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, and product mix development.
  • Mentorship, training and development of all members of the sales department.
  • Manages the departmental calendar in regard to trading priorities inclusive of launches, promotions and campaign activities for the purpose of maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Establish and oversee the adoption of departmental vision and values.

Strategy:

  • Implement sales strategies that further the department’s agenda and drives enhanced revenue generation for the business.
  • Deliver an optimized market mix relative to the core target consumers and identify the roadmap that will lead to the achievement of the department’s goals as well as the overall goals of the business.

Operational:

  • Servicing existing accounts, obtaining orders, and establishing new accounts by putting together a list of target companies, sales outlets and contacts. Facilitating follow-up meetings with existing customers and cold/warm calling prospective customers and selling product offerings.
  • Presenting our products and services to Leads, identifying specific consumer characteristics and recommending ways to promote and sell our products.

Analytics:

  • Utilize analytics tools and work with the Accounts team in undertaking detailed analyses of sales performance for the purpose of reporting sales strategy successes, weaknesses, and opportunities to Executive management.
  • Monitor the brand and make forecasts, identifying new trends ahead of the curve, hence, offering the business a competitive advantage and keeping it ahead of its competition in the market.

Knowledge / Relationships / Opportunity:

  • Build strong relationships with external partners and customers and regularly interact with them by attending sales workshops, seminars and hosting sales events for the business’s products.

Reporting:

  • Reporting Sales department’s results (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) to the Managing Director on revenue, customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, potential for new products and services, and all highlighted responsibilities.

General Skills And Competencies

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree / HND qualification
  • Must possess at least 5 years cumulative experience in Sales (FMCG Food, Drug or Baby products)
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & other basic reporting & data analysis tools.
  • Ability to plan accounts, territories and targets
  • Must possess coaching, motivational and leadership skills
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent negotiation skills
  • Must possess good communication and presentation skills
  • Must be Customer Relationship Management (CRM) savvy

Salary

  • N120,000 – N150,000 monthly.
