Job Title: Head of Biotechnology

Details
- Responsible for the overall administration of the Biotechnology. The incumbent will develop operating plans and strategic objectives that support Biotechnology’s research and development strategies.
- Plan and control all the technical operations to specified standards for achieving set targets and meeting the objectives for the department
- Develop and manage the annual budget, work programmes and ensuring adherence to strict budget control mechanisms.
Requirements
- First degree / MSc in Agricultural Science, Agric Extension or related degree
- Fellow/member of relevant professional bodies
- Thorough knowledge of Agricultural technologies
- Knowledge of agronomic techniques and skills to improve productivity, food security and livelihoods desirable.
- Minimum of 20 years practical field/industrial practical experience in Sugarcane Agriculture
- PhD in any Field of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy or related field.
- PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology, genetic engineering/molecular biology, a good understanding of sugarcane genetics
