Job Title: Treasury Operations Officer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Oversee treasury operations group wide
  • Weekly preparation of group treasury & liquidity reports to EXCOS
  • Bank relationship management (internet banking profiling & Accounts)
  • Book loan on ERP & interest income on facility recognition for PAC asset management
  • Monitor trade settlement daily and identify funding requirements solutions
  • Ensure accuracy of bank charges e.g. account maintenance charge and propose strategies to reduce bank charge expense.
  • Constant monitoring of liquidity and striking an optimal balance between liquidity paucity and surplus liquidly guaranteeing optimal liquidity threshold always.
  • Constant monitoring of investments for the group and reinvesting matured investments (T-bills, placements, CPs, and bond)
  • Ensure investments in various asset classes that generate higher returns.

Requirements

  • First degree or its equivalent preferably in Numeric discipline (Accounting, Finance, Economics among others).
  • ACA, ACCA qualified for at least 1 year.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in treasury operations
  • People oriented and results driven.
  • Strong team player and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant tax laws.

 

Job Title: Investment Associate

Location: Lagos
Direct Reporting: Chief Financial Officer working teams strategy & planning; research & business development

Objectives of the Role

  • To evaluate, monitor and report on the Group’s investment portfolio for optimal returns.
  • To appraise and scrutinize potential investments in line with the Group’s corporate strategy and investment policy.
  • Ensure optimal performance of the Group’s balance sheet (Balance sheet management)

Job Description / Expectations
Investment Management:

  • In line with the Group’s investment philosophy and objectives, ensure periodic evaluations of proprietary investments for profitability and maximum return.
  • Regular update of the Group’s Investment policy/ strategies and ascertain convergence with the company’s investment philosophy.
  • Manage the secretariat of the Investment Committee and provide sound recommendations and advice on investment screening.
  • Develop a performance scorecard (in line with the financial objectives of the Group) to track and monitor Proprietary investments.
  • Evaluate, and advice EXCO (along with Investment Committee) regarding returns on current investments as well as viability of prospective investments.
  • Collaborate with other relevant units such as Finance &Treasury; Strategy, and Research & Development on accessing the viability of Strategic Business Units (SBUs).

Capital Raise:

  • Secure the Group’s funding commitment towards proprietary investments.
  • Drive the Group’s efforts in capital raise to execute proprietary Investments.
  • Play a key role in providing leads to various investors/fund arrangers/placement agents to support fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and market the Group’s proprietary investment through various marketing efforts for a successful capital raise.

Deal Flow and Screening:

  • Evaluate and review deal-flows against investment strategy, risk, budget and other investment criteria on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal and timely investment and performance.
  • Screen and deliver financial, commercial, risk, tax and legal due diligences on dealflows and recommend appropriate course of action.
  • Provide leadership in all aspects of Proprietary Investments portfolio management from deal-flow to execution including due diligence and valuation.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Create a robust investment framework that would guide the unit (and the Investment Committee) in taking sound investment decisions.
  • Implement investment and risk management policies in line with the Group’s investment objectives.
  • Provide sound leadership to ensure that the relevant prospective principal investments comply with the required regulatory requirements.

Treasury Management:

  • Cash forecasting and working capital monitoring.
  • Creation and governance of various procedures designed to help maintain liquidity and reduce overall cost of fund.
  • Mitigate operational and financial risk.
  • Ability to invest in various classes of assets with maximum return for the company.
  • Evaluate and advice management on classes of investment to under-take

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline from a recognised university
  • Advanced degree e.g. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field of study, will be an added advantage.
  • Relevant professional certifications related to finance and/ or project management will be an added advantage.
  • 4 – 6 years working experience in management consulting, asset management, banking (investment or commercial), private equity or other financial services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of investment principles, strategies, policies and regulations applicable a proprietary investment company.
  • Proficient in transaction modelling and understanding of transaction structures; financial analysis and presentations
  • Demonstrable research and quantitative analytical techniques – ability to build business case quantitative models and interpret results
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point). Must be a team player, with confidence to work with cross-functional teams and senior management.

Job Title: Fund Accountant
Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Prepare timely and accurate Net Assets Values, yields, distributions, and other fund accounting output for subsequent review.
  • Record accurately, and in accordance with the Company policies and procedures, such accounting records as securities positions, corporate actions related, and journal entries.
  • Reconcile various accounts, or reviewing reconciliations prepared by others, and promptly researching and correcting any variances.
  • Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and prices, communicating same to management, and assisting in their resolution.
  • Assist, as assigned, in preparing audit schedules, compliance reports, tax returns, financial statements, or other reports.
  • Write reports periodically to management on Fund activities and other related issues.
  • Research, as assigned, certain securities in Fund portfolios for the purpose of ensuring proper accounting treatment (such as the nature of distributions, original issue discounts, and international valuations) and compliance with SEC, tax, and Trust Deed restrictions and limitations.
  • Institutional fund accounting processes also include preparing, reconciling and distributing reports to/from marketing, separate custodians and investment management.
  • Participate in regular rotation of trade processing and other accounting processes to prepare the fund accounting system for the next day.

Qualification & Skills

  • Minimum of First Degree in finance, accounting or mathematics.

Job Title: Operations Supervisor (Asset Management)

Position Overview

  • Responsibilities as an Operations Officer involve client administration (payments and bookings) managing proper trade settlement with our custodians, Reports and reconciliations with clients and counterparties.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Client administration including updating of client investment positions
  • Timely and accurately handle trade management and reconciliations (trade input, processing, settlements and act as the liaison between brokers and the firm)
  • Daily cash reconciliation, position report preparation
  • Liaison and collaboration with Financial control
  • Corporate Actions processing for PACAM Mutual Funds
  • Regulatory reporting
  • Reconciliations of registrar, custodian, Trustees and FINCON
  • Regular and adhoc internal report
  • Minimal sales targets.

Qualification & Skills

  • Minimum of First Degree in any field.
  • Professional certification around the financial space
  • Sound knowledge of Accounting including good understanding of fund accounting

  • Proven PC skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Bloomberg.
  • Team Spirit.
