Job Title: Export Clearing Officer (Cement Industry)

Description

  • We are currently seeking to employ a Clearing Officer. We need an individual who can multitask and is able to accomplish tasks well. An individual who can manage all import and export functions from pre-shipping, shipping to delivery of the consignment.
  • An individual with in-depth knowledge of cargo clearing processes and the ability to deliver under pressure and budget effectively.

Function

  • Develop relevant documentation required for shipping/ clearing of materials for DCP
  • Develop and submit all required documents to relevant agencies and maintain/file copies as required.
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies and clearance agents to expedite clearance of all materials.
  • Manage DCP’s relationship with relevant regulatory authorities and escalate challenges to Logistics Manager
  • Ensure all claims and notices from regulatory agencies are handled appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on logistics activities.
  • Develop periodic customs reports and highlight issues, for the attention of the Logistics Manager.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Logistics Manager.
  • Implement approved improvement initiatives for the logistics function

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline Degree. A Master’s degree is a Plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in a Clearing & Forwarding Company in Nigeria.
  • Proficiency in international documentation, LC, Shipping processes, bill of lading.
  • Previous experience working with customs brokers, forwarders, and international partners
  • Must have Operational knowledge of the ports and government agencies.
  • Must have knowledge of proper clearing and haulage documentation for imports.
  • Must have appropriate knowledge of inspection agents, Banks, shipping companies, and Terminals.
  • Must have the ability to handle customs and shipping companies for imports, temporary importation, and Exports.
  • Must have knowledge of the customs and Excise HS Code and Explanatory notes.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word)
  • Ability to work independently

Job Title: Export Logistics Officer (Industry Cement)

Description

  • The Export Logistics Officer will be responsible to produce accurate shipping documentation; oversee all aspects of the container shipment (from assisting customers/suppliers with bookings to the containers’ arrival at port).
  • Gain knowledge and expertise with each customer’s requirements and implement change to streamline the process.

Function

  • Coordinates export activities including reviewing documents received from overseas, tracing incoming shipments with steamship lines, creating arrival notices and making arrangements for customs clearance with broker and handling delivery instructions.
  • Generate, file, maintain up-to-date customer records, reports, documentation, database, etc.
  • Coordinate shipments with importers, truckers, and carriers.
  • Prepare billing package, bill file, email/mail to clients.
  • Ensure that all documentation meets 100% export regulations (commercial invoices, shipper export declaration, bill of lading).
  • Arrange cargo movement to international destinations, making booking, preparing and processing documentation.
  • Provide price quotations within established guidelines for air and ocean shipments.
  • Ability to work in a blended operations and customer development role.
  • Arrange for pickup and movement of freight to end port.
  • Ability to handle International drop-shipments per business standard operations procedure.
  • Responsible for packing, weighing, and labeling small sample shipments.
  • Manage relationships with transportation providers, vendors, customer service, and others to help resolve shipping issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Transport Management, Purchasing & Supplies or Business Administration

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the cement manufacturing industry.
  • Sound knowledge of DCP’s product and service offerings.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management terminologies, methodologies and approach
  • Basic knowledge of system-based inventory management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to learn, improve and adapt to changing requirements

Job Title: Security Manager – Ibese Plant (Cement Industry)

  • We are looking for a competent Security Manager with direct report to the Plant Director and dotted line report to the Group General Manager, Security to organize and oversee all security operations of our company. Security personnel will be under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.
  • As Security Manager, you will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. You will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. Since you will have the Security Department under your responsibility, you must also exhibit leadership skills.
  • The goal is to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property are safe and well-protected.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing security policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Organising of Intelligence reports to prevent any violence or brake of law and order situation resulting in damage to the company staff or company property.
  • Protecting of company assets against theft.
  • Controlling budgets for security operations and monitor expenses.
  • Recruiting, training and supervising security officers and guards.

  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
  • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
  • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
  • Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Committed and reliable
  • The prospective candidate should be of the rank of Lt Col / Colonel in the Army or Deputy / Assistant Commission of Police.
