The Opportunity – Group Chief Financial Officer:

  • Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the Group CFO will be responsible for providing strategic and operational direction / leadership for the Group’s financial planning and management activities. The role holder will also provide oversight to the finance functions of the subsidiary companies, as they relate to budget management, performance reporting, financial accounting & reporting, and treasury management.

Summary

  • As a key member of the Executive Management team, you will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the group. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deals analysis and negotiations, investor relationships, partnership compliance and institutional financing.
  • Provides leadership in the development of a continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Ensure credibility of the Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
  • Responsible, either directly or by managing staff, for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, helping to drive the company’s financial strategy.
  • Ensure that the company’s financial targets are met and will deliver positive financial growth to the company
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking action
  • Research economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areas of cost reduction and process enhancement.
  • Perform risk management analysis of company liabilities/investments, evaluate and manage capital structure.
  • Monitor performance with tracking, and establish corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control of financial activities of the Group.
  • Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, cross team communications and workflow
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards and other relevant regulations
  • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities. Have principal responsibility for accounting, audited financial statements, management accounts, treasury, tax, financial planning, reporting and analysis of financials to all stakeholders and enterprise risk management and internal audit.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • BSc / BA / HND in Accounting, Finance or any other related field, MBA highly desirable
  • Qualified Accountant (recognized international qualification)
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles,
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic focus and forward looking, experienced in partnering with CEOs to develop and deliver business strategies.
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
