We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor the day-to-day accounting and financial operations within the company, such as purchases, bill payments, payroll, invoicing, bank reconciliations, customer/supplier reconciliations and other transactions.
  • Manage documentation for importation – pre-shipment, pre-arrival and post-arrival activities including (but not limited to) preparation of Form M, PAAR, liaising with suppliers and banks for release of documents, liaising with clearing agent for shipments, etc.
  • Ensure that company property including stocks are properly and adequately insured.
  • Oversee financial department employees, including account assistants and accountants.
  • Responsible for timely submission of statutory returns and payment, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
  • Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company.
  • Analyze financial reports and market trends.
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent qualification
  • MBA in Finance will be an added advantage
  • Relevant professional membership is compulsory such as ICAN, ACCA, ICAI, ICAEW, etc.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in technical finance and/or accounting roles, with a demonstrated track record optimizing company operations, especially in an FMCG Distribution company
  • A solid understanding of financial and management accounting principles
  • Strong accounts and budgeting skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel, and PowerBi
  • Tally 9.0 / Netsuite or any reputed accounting package
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence decisions at an executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels and who represent a variety of diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results
  • Highly self-motivated individual with the capacity to get-things done
  • Integrity and superior communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change for oneself and for others.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS reporting, ideally work experience with exposure to international business, FMCG, Manufacturing, etc.
