Mono helps businesses in Africa access financial accounts for financial data and payments. Businesses of all sizes in Africa use our platform to retrieve account details, transactions and move money, reliably and securely, including Carbon, Renmoney, Inflow Finance, Tangerine Insurance, and many others.

In almost a year, we’ve introduced a steady cadence of innovations, such as statement pages, a no-code tool to retrieve bank statements, and much more. We’ve connected to 10% of all active bank accounts in Nigeria, and our investors include YCombinator, Entree Capital, and others.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Description

  • The core backend teams are responsible for architecting the services that make the Mono internal and external dashboard works for our partners and your colleagues.
  • We’re looking for people with a strong background or interest in solving real-world problems and the ability to translate complexity into simplicity.
  • You’re comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces, have exquisite attention to detail, and have curiosity in learning new technologies and systems

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience building high-quality code and infrastructure
  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Backend services powering our dashboards.
  • Improve engineering processes especially through testing, monitoring, and alerting
  • Coordinate technical execution with other team members. Envision solutions collaboratively and coordinate their execution as a team, addressing technical and coordination issues.
  • Carefully manage API retro compatibility, document API changes, and implement deprecation plans
  • Implement automated quality assurance and monitoring modules
  • Participate in code, design, and production-readiness reviews
  • Experience shipping high-quality products from start to finish
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts

  • A desire to work closely with developers who depend on your libraries to deliver customer value
  • Attention to detail, especially around performance, accessibility, reliability, and security
