Job Title: Cementing Operator

Primary Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, assists during rigging-up and rigging-down of cementing service equipment on work locations to include spotting of cement storage vessels, pre-mixing of spacer fluids, and rigging-up appropriate data monitoring equipment
  • Responsible for execution of auxiliary operations such as effective load out, basic equipment maintenance, troubleshooting etc
  • Ensures proper load out and labelling of equipment for all operations
  • Ensures maintenance of worn-out tools
  • Participate in mobilization and demobilization activities
  • Responsible for the operation of cement pumping and mixed equipment, blenders, liquid additive metering systems, centrifugal pumps, data acquisition systems, Automatic Density Control (ADC) systems, bulk cement blending, delivery, and storage systems, manifold equipment, and cementing plug releasing tools
  • Verifies correct line up of valves on bulk systems and surface manifold equipment
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of cementing products
  • Understands basic lab test data such as pump time, density, yield, water ratio, etc.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • OND / HND in a related field with relevant experience
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working as a cementing operator
  • Excellent organizational and Presentation skills, with an ability to take initiative and prioritize important tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, proactively seeking guidance, team working, clarification and feedback
  • Ability to detect unsafe/hazardous conditions of equipment and work environment
