Cedarview – Our client, an I.T Consultant and a strategic player in the broadband space in West Africa, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • To Increase business efficiency through cost analysis and pricing, coordinate and integrate business functions to ensure rationality and financial viability of business long term strategies, provide timely reports on financial position and financial performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements.
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database.
  • Provide assistance and support to company personnel.
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Daily reconciliation of the stock position.
  • Constantly update job knowledge.
  • Maintain excellent banking relationships.
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
  • Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances.
  • Interpret the company’s financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
  • Preparation of statement of financial position.
  • Closely manage progress against objectives, highlighting roadblocks as soon as they arise and taking full personal

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
  • Must possess a professional qualification (ICAAN, ACA or ACCA) Masters in Management is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 – 4 years cognate experience is required.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement accounting systems.
  • Solid understanding on financial statistics and Accounting Principles.
