Elduke Ventures – Our client, a Christian Faith Based Organization, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chef

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers


  • Responsible for planning our menu, ensuring that each dish is nutritious and cost-effective, deliver food that meets the highest quality standards and create dishes that keeps people coming back for more.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with kitchen management on menu items.
  • Prep kitchen before meal times.
  • Prepare menu items as ordered.
  • Ensure proper preparation of all food to be served.
  • Maintain a clean kitchen at all times 73.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, and assisting them as required.
  • Taking stock of ingredients and equipment, and placing orders to replenish stock.
  • Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
  • Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree in the Culinary Arts (preferred).
  • High School Diploma.
  • 3+ years in a kitchen environment.
  • Understanding of different culinary profiles and techniques.
  • Capable of following instructions without variation.
  • Ability to regularly lift 35 lbs.
  • Comfortable working long shifts of up to 12 hours.
  • Familiarity with analytical food and menu preparation software.
  • Sex: Male

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • A growing relationship with Jesus and a heart for the local church.
  • A Knowledge of food production and an awareness of customer demand, food standards and sustainability.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, Supervisory skills and management ability.
  • A desire to learn new flavors and techniques.
  • The capability to work safely, efficiently and neatly.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends.
