Job Summary

  • The GM of Business Operations is a crucial member of our senior management team, who reports only to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The job owner shall be responsible to manage and control diverse Business Operation function.
  • The job owner shall be responsible for building the strategic direction forCommercial, HR and Administration, Account and financewith any other units assigned in futurewhile liaising with GM of Refinery Operations to develop strategies that would lead to the achievement of the company’s aims and objectives.

Responsibilities
Leadership and People Management:

  • Provide strong leadership and ensure clear strategic objectives are in place for the Organisation
  • Support the implementation and facilitation of relevant workshops and training courses
  • Promote the organization’s core values and a strong team culture

Other responsibilities:

  • Serving as the custodian of Company’s Business Operational policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage best option model and approach to drive growth plan and strategy for the business
  • Work with strategic enablers to develop and structure the most effective solutions and to implement the best operating platform to achieve superior service standards.
  • Direct the company’s Business Operational plans, by working with all heads of department of the Business Operations Unit to create and implement appropriate policies, procedures as well asdeveloping, designing and seeking continuous improvement of the business operational systems.
  • Developing detailed Business, Marketing and project plans for Strategic business units
  • Marketing intelligence and evaluation for sustainable competitive advantage
  • Responsible for the preparing regular strategic analysis to support Strategic business unit decision making process
  • Developing marketing strategies to minimize marketing/operating cost.
  • Work hand in hand with the Head of Account and Finance to develop budgeting, forecasting and economic analysis for all refinery operations and other activities of the Company
  • Champion the cause of strategic business plans which leads to achievement of availability of feedstock for the Refinery Operations Unit refining activities at every point in time.
  • Strategy formulation, implementation and monitoring to drive the improvement of operational efficiency for the company
  • Work with GM of Refinery Operations to ensure that all company policies are up to date, well communicated, enforced and advise on changes to forestall any business risk
  • Drive Business development activities to generate new businesses and increase company profitability.
  • Establish relationship and liaise with all relevant regulatory authorities as well as strategic partners for the benefit of company
  • Responsible for preparing detailed monthly analysis of variances of the sales budgets of all products and services

Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline, preferably numerical.
  • Post Graduate Degree is preferred
  • Professional qualifications & registrations will be an added advantage.
  • 15 yrs+ of relevant experience in Oil and gas finance operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, consistently adhering to deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Candidate must be at least 40 years of age (age should be clearly stated on cv)
  • An excellent command of English, both written and verbal, is a requirement of the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent team player.
