Job Title: Retail Buyer

Location: Lagos

The Role 

  • We seek to fill the role of Retail Buyer for our online store that aims to revolutionise how people shop.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the sourcing, supply and inventory management of FMCG products in assigned categories.
  • Successful candidates will be working with the Product Sourcing Lead to ensure that our inventory is always optimized.

 Key Responsibilities  

  • Identify and source high turnover products, procuring at optimal cost consistently.
  • Manage stock levels to minimize waste to an absolute minimum.
  • Evaluate supplier options according to price and quality to identify the best choice.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of products in compliance with the agreed SLAs.
  • Forge and maintain trust relationships with suppliers for mutual growth.
  • Identify and manage risks within the supply chain.
  • Analyse market trends to make insightful buying decisions.

 Requirements 

  • Minimum of 3 years as a buyer, procurement specialist or a category manager in a leading supermarket/e-commerce platform.
  • Good knowledge of different brands, manufacturers, and distributors.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Critical thinking, analytical, numerical skills.
  • Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in Office 365.
