Job Description

  • Reporting to the Finance Lead – West Africa, the incumbent will provide financial support the Nigeria and Ghana team through coordinating External Audits, Filing Tax Returns, banking activities, supply chain finance and analysis and administrative support.
  • Internal and External Stakeholders management, ensuring cordial relationships are maintained with internal contacts – Management, Sales, Value-Chain and other departments as well as external contacts – Banks, Tax and Other Regulatory Authorities.
  • Management of activities covering- Letters of Credit reconciliation, Banking instructions, settlement of open inter company bills.
  • Ensuring statutory compliance and timely filing of tax returns- VAT, CIT, NHF, e.tc. Processing tax clearance certificate, Withholding Tax reconciliation and utilization reporting.
  • Support closure of statutory audit for Nigeria/Ghana, support month end activities covering- provisions, reconciliations. Responding to regional ad-hoc data request on Sales, GSA and GL enquiries.
  • Accounting responsibility covering, General Ledger postings and reconciliations, sales commission and incentives processing, support, stocks management, coordinating quarterly stocks count, supporting the customer service to ensure accurate billing, Intercompany/global recharge, ensuring approval processes are followed within the organization, purchases, payments, free-on-loan items, etc
  • Maintaining office infrastructure/facilities including I.T, Internet, suitable outsourced catering, co-ordination of other 3rd party service providers – Insurance Brokers, Agent (Workforce group Nigeria/Ghana) Health Maintenance Organizations. Site contractors overtime payment processing and their tax clearance processing.  Supporting site audit and 3rd party audit of Diversey system.
  • Travel Management (both resident employees and visiting expatriates) – sourcing for suitable hotel accommodation providers, negotiating for suitable discounts, ensuring travel advances are pre-approved, invitation letters and other documents are prepared and forwarded on a timely basis for successful entry visa application, hotel reservation and flight tickets are booked, airport pick-ups are undertaken and guest generally have a good experience during their stay.

Qualifications Desired (Skills, Experience And Knowledge)

  • University Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional accounting qualification
  • 4-5 years experience in accounting.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of budgeting, cash management, financial statements and financial analysis processes.
  • Knowledgeable of Treasury management processes
  • Proven ability to analyse complex business issues and identify, design and implement effective practical recommendations
  • ERP – SAP Knowledge an added advantage.
  • Advanced excel skills a must.
  • Able to operate in a performance driven organization
  • Culturally aware and adept at working across multiple geographies
