Over 1.7B people around the world do not have access to basic financial services. Kudi’s mission is to make financial services accessible and affordable to all Africans across the world. Kudi started from Nigeria, a $300B cash payment market. We are currently digitizing cash payments for over 2 million Nigerians through thousands of Agent points across Nigeria. In a little over two years, we have grown and processed over $3B in payments. Our next target is to bank over 10 million Nigerians monthly within the next 12 months.

Job Title: Reconciliation Analyst

Description

  • As a financial service provider, daily reconciliation of transactions is of utmost priority to us. We are looking to hire a Reconciliation Analyst intern to assist in ensuring that our transactions across all vendors are promptly reconciled.
  • The ideal candidate will be a smart, detail-oriented, enthusiastic person with a passion for problem solving and collaboration. You will be relied on to anticipate, identify problems and promptly take corrective actions when issues arise.
  • You will also help to resolve reconciliation issues and liaise with different teams internally and externally to ensure funds are recovered as soon as possible. Does this sound interesting to you?

About the Role

  • The Reconciliation analyst intern controls and ensures that all data in our system accurately reflects the records with our banks and trading partners and all debits in our bank statements are successfully recognized in our system’s database.

In this role your day to day includes:

  • Daily reconciliation of our settlement reports, bank accounts and Kudi system to ensure the integrity and accuracy of transactions and bank debits.
  • Reconcile daily all data held in our systems to ensure only the right transaction values and charges were disbursed to agents/customers.
  • Ensuring daily reconciliations are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Working with other teams to improve processes with the view of reducing loopholes to improve quality and efficiency of reconciliation.
  • Report and escalate all non-reconciling items to ensure they are communicated via Email or any appropriate means to the relevant teams for investigation or correction while remaining responsible for effective resolution.
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to assist with the investigation to root cause of losses, and working with subject matter experts to identify and execute solutions.
  • Support the evolution of tools and processes to ensure that an integrated and automated service is provided.
  • Actively seek out and build relationships with others who can provide information or intelligence to drive success.
  • Providing timely reconciliation reports and updates to your line manager.
  • Process and check that all transactions and reconciliation systems are accurate through the team’s checks and balances processes.

About You

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or any related discipline from an accredited university.
  • PC Literacy in MS Excel, Word, tableau/Powerbi.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong ability to adapt quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret and explain different business cases.
