Job Title: Project Engineer (One Year Contract)

Location: Calabar, Cross River, Nigeria
Job Type: Contract

Job Description

  • The Project Engineer is responsible for the complete administration and organization of the construction and field personnel and directs the field effort through the activities of his staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of civil and HSE supervisors
  • Generation of project cost/resource estimates.
  • Actively monitors productivity on site
  • Ability to effectively work on more than one project at a time.
  • Lead a team helping to manage the site area in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Forecasting construction timeline
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles
  • Carry out regular inspections and monitoring.
  • Weekly update on the work program.
  • Helping co-ordinate quality control, assurance of deliverables
  • Computing records for site reports.
  • Schedule site management meetings with all stakeholders.
  • Carrying out daily site inspections.

Qualifications

  • First Degree in Civil Engineering is compulsory
  • Additional qualification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 7 years of post-graduate Nigerian experience in road and bridge infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Hands-on experience with flowcharts, technical documentation, and schedules
  • Knowledge of project management software
  • Solid organization and time-management skills
  • Team player.
