- You will support the Finance department’s management of accounting systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with CRS’ established accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donors’ rules and regulations, and legal requirements to support high-quality programs serving the poor and vulnerable.
- As part of an experienced finance team, you will help coordinate daily financial activities through preparation and delivery of financial services.
Roles and Key Responsibilities
- Help ensure maintenance of all data required for processing financial transactions for assigned accounts in INSIGHT financial accounting package.
- Assume the Accounts Payable Specialist PERSONA in INSIGHT and be responsible for all payment processing assigned under this level access.
- Record delegated financial transactions following appropriate authorizations. Review various accounts to detect irregularities.
- Help evaluate subrecipient financial management processes in accordance with policy and help strengthen capacity of partner in financial accounting and transactions.
- Support the CP’s programs team by providing technical and administrative support from pre-award stages through to close-out of grants
- As the account payable specialist whose role is pivotal to ensuring sound financial system in the CP, shall diligently review and analyze supporting documentation of financial transactions to ensure that all required documents are accurate, complete and that appropriate projects, task and expenditure type are charged.
- Prepare various, periodic, and ad hoc financial reports, as needed, and perform variance analysis to assist with decision-making and proper management of financial resources.
- Supporting project grant accountants and programs staff to formulate responses to donors on matters relating to grants, contracts, agreements, and other compliance requirements
- Support Implementation of all grants-related policies and procedures in compliance with donors’ policies and requirements.
- Working closely with the project grant accountants to manage grants, sub-award financial reviews and closeout procedures
- Supporting project grant accountants and programs staff in formulation of responses to donors on matters relating to grants, contracts, agreements, and other compliance requirements
- Support in the drafting and review of contracts, agreements, and other contractual documents for partners and vendors.
- Monitoring all changes to federal regulations as well as government policies and adapt same for effective and efficient management of CP’s grants and operation
- Periodically, through training share basic information with staff, vendors and subrecipients on financial accounting policies and procedural compliance issues and support capacity strengthening.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration is required.
- Professional Certification in accounting (ICAN, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) will be preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years accounting experience, preferably with an international or local NGO, or a financial/banking institute.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 30%.
