The Opportunity

  • IHS Towers is expanding our global footprint and we are seeking an individual to join our team in Nigeria as Specialist, Payroll & Data Analytics.
  • The Specialist, Payroll & Data Analytics will ensure effective, efficient and accurate management of employee data, payroll, and benefits for nationals and expats in line with statutory requirements and corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Manager, Compensation & Benefits to understand the company’s compensation and benefits strategy and assist in implementation and execution of the strategy.
  • Support payroll management activities.
  • Provide inputs in design of the company’s pay and benefits system.
  • Study compensation survey reports, monitor government regulations, and analyze compensation policies to provide inputs towards developing and implementing the company’s competitive compensation & benefits plan.
  • Negotiate offers with candidates selected for roles through the company’s recruitment and selection process.
  • Ensure ongoing alignment of pay ranges to the company’s grade structure and titling conventions.
  • Ensure data is entered and processed accurately throughout the month per year to meet agreed deadlines for key milestones, such as monthly pay runs and year-end accounts, including all starters, leavers, and changes and deductions for both payroll and pension schemes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments are made for staff salaries and allowances as earned per period (monthly, annually).
  • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll inquiries and deal promptly with payroll-related issues/ concerns.
  • Administer benefits, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Focus on maintaining a positive relationship between the company and assigned vendors.
  • Review all payroll related invoices from vendors for accuracy.
  • Deploy, analyze and report employee benefit plan surveys as approved.
  • Ensure timely updates of employee records and file employee information safely across both physical and electronic archives.
  • Provide support to HRBPs on resolution of administrative/ transactional issues.
  • Provide support in preparation of some statutory remittance schedules and send to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage the HR/ People modules of the company’s D365 platform, including configuration updates and integration updates.
  • Ensure maintenance of quality, consistency and integrity of HR data across all systems.
  • Partner with IT to fit HR technology solutions within overall corporate infrastructure.
  • Identify and evaluate risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with HRIS projects, escalating where appropriate.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager, Compensation & Benefits.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or any relevant numeric discipline
  • Professional certifications from relevant bodies, e.g. CIPMN, CIPD, SHRM, WorldatWork, etc, will be an asset.
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian labour and personal income tax laws.
