Chief Procurement Officer at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede

The Federal Polytechnic, Ede was established in 1992 in accordance with Federal Polytechnics Act CAP F17, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, as amended in 2019. The Polytechnic has two Campuses (North and South). The North Campus is located along Talafia Road, Ede, while the South Campus is located along Egbeda – Logun Road, Ede, Osun State.

The Polytechnic was established for the training of middle and high-level technical manpower. The Institution caters for a large Students’ population enrolled in Full-Time and Part-Time Programmes at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels. All the Programmes run by the Institution are accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and relevant Professional Regulatory Bodies.

Job Description

  • The Chief Procurement Officer is responsible for the discharge of all procurement processes, preparing annual reports in respect of the central procurement, reviewing procurement policies, regulations and guidelines, advising the Polytechnic on all procurement matters, coordinating the activities of the Procurement Unit and performing other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Applicants must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree / HND (minimum of second class lower / lower credit) in Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Quantity Surveying, Banking & Finance, Law, Insurance, Economics or any other relevant discipline with at least 18 years post academic qualification cognate work experience or a Master’s Degree with at least 15 years post academic qualification cognate work experience.
  • Membership of a relevant and recognized body is mandatory while evidence of Community service is an added advantage.
  • The applicant must have also passed the procurement conversion examination.

The Person:

  • The Chief Procurement Officer must be a person of high integrity who demonstrates transparency in public and private lives and is expected to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the Polytechnic.
  • He/She must also be receptive to new ideas and willing to translate them into action in line with the visions and missions of the Polytechnic.

Terms of Appointment

  • Applicants must not be more than 50 years of age (fresh appointment) at the time he/she assumes duty.
  • The salary of the position is CONTEDISS 14 while other terms and conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeris or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.
  • The Candidate must show medical fitness for the Position.
