Health Informatics Officer at the National AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections Control and Hepatitis Programme (NASCP)

The National AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infections Control and Hepatitis Programme (NASCP) is a division of the Department of Public Health, in the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health (FMH). The concept of NASCP and its mandate is to coordinate the formulation and effective implementation of the Nigeria government policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures for the prevention of new HIV infections as well as improve on the existing treatment, care and support for those persons already infected and affected by the virus in the country.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Health Informatics Officer

Background

  • Engagement of a Health Informatics Officer to provide technical support for the optimization of the National Data Repository (NDR), the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and any other HIS platform.
  • We are implementing a CDC supported 5-year project to deliver client-centered high quality comprehensive HIV care and treatment and laboratory services to reach the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets and end AIDS by 2030.
  • This project employs a patient-centered approach that integrates contextual health systems strengthening with comprehensive HIV care, including critical services mainstreamed towards those infected and affected by HIV.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret data to identify areas for improvement
  • Support development of health information systems that support the collection, sharing, standardization and integration of healthcare data
  • Support training at national, sub-national and service delivery levels on health information system, deployment and management.
  • Provide technical support optimize network security and maintain data bases
  • Document processes, maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Contracting & Accountability:

  • The officer will be accountable to the National Coordinator reporting directly to the National Coordinator.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Health Information Management/Records, Health Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years cognate experience.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record and health information management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment

Deliverables:

  • Monthly and timely programme data aggregation and analysis.
  • Monthly Data dashboard.
  • Monthly fact sheet.

Renumeration
S/he will be paid competitive fees for the agreed duration based on qualification and experience.
