Membership Relations Officer at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the Premier Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria. It was incorporated in 1950 as a non-profit making organization, Limited by Guarantee under the Companies Act of 1948. The primary objective of the Chamber is to promote, support or oppose legislative or other measures affecting trade, industry, commerce and agriculture as well as representing the opinion of the business community on the above matters in particular, and the economy as a whole.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Membership Relations Officer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Type: Full time
Reports To: Director

Summary Objective

  • The prospective employee is expected to continually grow the membership base of the of the organisation by marketing and selling the Chamber to prospective members, carry out digital and non-digital marketing campaign for membership growth, provide a well-sought value proposition to the members and maintain an active prospective databank always.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Relationship Officer for the Chamber in managing members and maintain a very good relationship with clients.
  • To revive inactive members and bring back companies that have exited the organization.
  • Membership Subscription Drive by monitoring and collecting subscription for the Chamber.
  • Effective Management of the Sectoral Group Service and Organize sectoral Group meetings periodically.
  • He or she will act as the Secretary of the assigned Sectoral Groups.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of of members in assigned Sectoral Groups.
  • Excellent management of Membership Programs and Events.
  • Must research and keep abreast of development on assigned members.
  • Attend to membership enquiries, complaints, and service demands
  • Manage sspecial projects and tasks as may be assigned by the Director/Management.

Job Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Social Science / Management disciplines (Business Administration, Marketing, Sociology, etc).

Experience:

  • 3 – 4 years cognate experience in Membership/Customer relations management, event management, marketing and sales management.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Persuasive and digital Marketing Skills
  • Proficient in the use MS Word, Excel, and PPT
  • Proactive and event management skills.
