Located Lagos requires for immediate employment the service of a well experience, competent and honest Accountant to direct the operations of the Finance unit and properly document and present Account accounting reports to the Management in a timely manner.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Accountant
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Controlling the payroll
- Producing an accurate set of month-end accounts, with comparisons to forecasts and previous periods
- Reconciling bank statements
- Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT and PAYE
- Chasing late payments, reporting bad debts and keeping a careful eye on the cash flow.
- Preparing profit and loss accounts and the balance sheet for senior management
- Assisting in preparing budgets and business planning, including projected room revenue
Requirements and Skills
- B.Sc in Accounting, Finance or relevant Degree with at least 5 years work experience.
- Additional certification (ICAN) is a plus
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Work experience as an Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
