Executive Career at Media Coalition and Awareness to Halt Human Trafficking (MeCAHT)

The Board of Directors of MeCAHT (Media Coalition and Awareness to Halt Human Trafficking), an international media-driven non-profit organisation working to reduce human trafficking among vulnerable groups in Nigeria, South African and Europe, is seeking to recruit an candidates with strong leadership and management experience to lead the organisation to effectively deliver on its mandate in support of curbing Human Trafficking in Nigeria. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Executive Director (ED)

Location: Lagos

Summary of Responsibility

  • The Executive Director is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MeCAHT and is ultimately responsible for the overall management of MeCAHT and all aspects of the organization’s operations.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Resource development and maintenance,
  • Agency and program planning,
  • Community and public relations,
  • Personnel management,
  • Liaison to the Board, and
  • Fiscal management.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Must be a Christian and an active member of a Church
  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work, Psychology Business/Public Administration or related area.
  • Strong skills in fiscal management, resource development and maintenance, Organization and program planning, and public relations.
  • Previous experience working with NGOs with minimum of 10 years related experience in administration of volunteer and non-profit service agency with requisite experience and expertise in programme development and implementation 6 years of which must be in not- for- profit organization at a managerial level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Trafficking ln Persons (TIP) issues and other social services skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Computer for Training, Word processing, Financial management, E-mail. Internet
  • Good facilitation skills
  • Driving skills – ability to drive self to project sites.
  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/ voluntary organizations
  • Knowledge of all Federal and State legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations including: employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, charities, taxation, insurance etc.
  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization
