Job Title: Commercial Lead

The Role

  • We’re looking for a Commercial Lead to support the ambitious business growth of the emerging FastFast business across Nigeria. The successful candidate will be working alongside and supporting the Country Manager with various commercial activities ranging from strategy to sales.
  • You will be responsible for forecasting sales, developing growth strategies, reviewing commercial performance and working closely with the marketing team to align sales & marketing efforts and ensure targets and ambitious KPIs are not only achieved but exceeded.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Understand the competitive landscape of the grocery sector in Nigeria and develop growth strategies to establish FastFast as a market leader in the online segment.
  • Identify new market segments to expand intoand product development opportunities across all categories.
  • Building strategies to diversify the business’s revenue streams and ensure strong financial performance.
  • Support the network development of stores across the country and optimise commercial performance.
  • Drive improvements of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as waste optimisation, product availability and customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Establish strong supplier and partner relationships to optimise costs across commercial activities and maximise profits.
  • Develop key partnerships with emerging businesses across a variety of sectors and secure deals to sell Nigeria’s top performing and highest quality products.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with new commercial initiatives.
  • Oversee, lead and develop cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in a Business related field.
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role within the online retail / grocery sector.
  • Proven track record in high-growth environments and/or start up experience, ideally with a background of launching, scaling, and operating in Nigeria.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong financial skills, including financial reporting abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills to guide and motivate teams.
  • Affinity for using data to make strategic decision.
  • IT proficient with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
