Key Responsibilities

• Holds the responsibility as the leader of his assigned shift. Supervises a group of vessel and yard planners, cargo and equipment controller in preparation of work plans.

• Ensure vessels are planned and monitored effectively in order to achieve the target of 15GMPH and a 60mins truck turn-time.

• Ensure 80% of the planned yard/housekeeping moves are completed by end of their respective shifts.

• Takes responsibility of berth planning when the Berth Planner is not around during weekends.

• Reports problems and issues to the Assistant Planning Manager, as needed, especially issues of complexity or great impact on the operation.

• Monitors efficient planning according to operational requirements and legislation

• Lookout for potential gang reduction by knocking off short cranes from vessel crane program, and inform the Technical Department of the availability of the cranes.

• Pro-actively ensure all future yard clashes for single vessels and in between multiple vessels are diagnosed and corrected by following up with planner-in-charge.

• Keep close communication with Shift Managers to drive operational performance inside and outside.

• Identifies and solves problems and issues on a daily basis, usually of a moderately complex nature.

• Keep customers informed of their vessels operations progress from the point of berthing until departure.

• Ensure the Cargo Controllers keeps tracks on all cargo data/edi for incoming vessels. Steps in if and when required.

• To contribute to the improvement of existing methodologies, processes and measurements when executing duties on an ongoing basis.

• Maintains the shift log-book and provides operational statistical information as required.

• Responsible in monitoring attendance, medical leaves and annual leave applications.

• Performs other duties as may be required.

              

Who we are looking for

 Education: Requires a University degree

EITHER

 Requires at least four or more years of supervisory or team leader experience in container terminal operations environment. Previous experience as a vessel and yard planner for at least two years is required.

Knowledge:

• MS Office proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Strong interpersonal skills to manage conflict

• Works well independently without close supervision. Adapts to changing priorities or unexpected situations. Takes ownership of work. Meet daily challenges with a positive open mind. Strive to improve deadlines for completion of operation.
