Applications are invited for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

ACADEMICS:

    Professor
    Associate Professor
    Senior lecturer l
    Lecturer

In the following disciplines:
Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Microbiology, Geology, Computer Science, international Relations, Industrial Chemistry, and Biochemistry.

Professor:
Candidates must possess a PhD with at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision, as well as a strong record of substantial publications in reputable international journals. In addition, candidates must have a good measure of academic leadership and an understanding of university governance.
Associate Professor (Reader):
As above, but with not less than eight years of university teaching and research experience with a good record of scholarly publications in reputable journals. Candidates must also possess some measure of academic leadership and an understanding of university governance,
Senior Lecturer:
As above, but with at least six years post qualification experience In teaching, research and academic administration.
Lecturer:
As above, but with at least three years post-qualification experience in teaching, research and academic administration.

NON-ACADEMIC:

    Director of Works and Maintenance
    Head, Corporate Affairs Unit
    Head, Information and Communication Technology Unit

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  Director of Works and Maintenance:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, and must be fully registered with appropriate professional body with at least 12 years’ post-qualification experience in a higher institution or corporate organization. Successful candidate must be able to show evidence of administrative ability.
Head, Corporate Affairs Unit:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication or other related disciplines with at least 10 years post-qualification experience in the print or broadcast media, Possession of Master’s degree in Mass Communication or related disciplines and membership of professional bodies will be an added advantage.
Head, Information and Communication Technology Unit:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering or other related disciplines with at least 10 years’ post-qualification experience in a higher institution or corporate organization. Possession of Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and membership of professional bodies will be an added advantage.

ACADEMIC CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACHIEVERS ALUMNI
The University Council has approved the engagement of desiring First Class and Second Class Upper graduates of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 sets of the University as Research Assistants/Graduate Assistants in their respective fields with a view to training and developing them in their career. Tagged “Future Achievers Development Scheme (FADS)* the beneficiaries of the Scheme will be assisted with payment of tuition and other incidental expenses by the University towards the attainment of Ph.D. in their various disciplines within six years while they progress steadily in their academic career in the University.
Interested alumni are invited to attend a screening exercise scheduled to hold in the University between Monday, August 18, 2014 and Friday, August 29, 2014.
Successful applicants should be prepared to join the University under the Scheme with effect from October 2014
