   To ensure that through the effective leadership of the Joint Venture Supply Chain team we are able to support the OU’s sales aspirations and targets for Nigeria.

   This covers the integrated supply chain activities of Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehousing and Transportation of goods to Castrol customers.

   To ensure that these operations, undertaken in a high risk operating environment, are influenced to comply with BP’s HSSE, Quality and Compliance & Ethics standards.

   To ensure that all supply chain activities are managed within appropriate legal/statutory and Corporate Governance frameworks.

Key accountabilities
ü  To lead the Supply Chain function in Nigeria in order to support the OU’s sales and safety efforts.

ü  Ensure that customer focus remains a priority through the effective management and control of IFOT as an agreed measure of service.

ü  To deliver cost and cash targets within agreed budgets in order to support delivery of profitability for the OU.

ü  To ensure that BP’s Quality and HSSE minimum standards are understood by both joint venture staff and 3rd Party Contractors. Where applicable, to get 3rd Party contractors to adopt these standards and policies for manufacturing as well as logistics activities.

ü  To lead the people agenda within the Nigeria joint venture supply chain, in order to ensure a diverse and energised local workforce that has the appropriate competencies to support the business effort.

ü   Ensure that Supply Chain Strategies are aligned to business demand through the active contribution to the strategic direction of the Auto and GME business in Nigeria.

ü  â€œDeliver short, medium and long term performance as laid out in the annual MyPlan process”

Safety

·         Influence and implement SPU global OMS processes in the Nigeria Supply Chain operational area of control

Quality

·         To ensure compliance to BP manufacturing quality standards and conformance to the QAM (Quality assurance Manual)

·         Roll out and ensure compliance to the GTP (Global Test Protocol) within local packaging supply base

Service Level

·         Drive the Delivery service to Auto and GME

·         Ensure the delivery of IFOT of Auto and GME

·         Offer differentiated service level subject to different business needs

Cost and Cash

·         Responsible for all operating budgets in Nigeria JV Supply Chain regarding OPEX, CAPEX and Working Capital.

Strategy

·         Drive Nigeria Supply Chain strategy to deliver agreed outcomes to meet business supply in 5 year outlook. The plan to include sourcing optionality, local suppliers, plants and logistics network.

·         Devise 5 year outlook for capital investment in Nigeria across Plants & Logistics network

·         Ensure Nigeria is aligned with Global GSC Strategy

Plans

·         Develop, track and manage the implementation of GSC plan for Nigeria

·         Champion People development plan and talent pipeline in Nigeria supply chain

·         Plan to drive improvements in the Supply Chain function by adopting global best practises, world class service standards so as to deliver outstanding service to the businesses.

People

·         Improve depth & diversity of talent in line with SPU D&I ambition

·         Lead and develop the succession Plan for Nigeria Supply Chain

Essential Education
·         Technical Graduate with min 5 years’ experience in the petroleum/petrochemical/chemical industry of which the last 2 years should have been in a leadership role

·         Post Graduate Degree in management (Advantageous)

Fluency in English Essential experience and job requirements
·        Broad experience in supply chain functional elements including procurement, planning processes, manufacturing and logistics; and a proven track record of leading people and transformational change.

·        Given The Diverse Nature Of The Role And The Many Challenges And Complexities Referred To Above, The Job Holder Must Have Held Complex Operations Roles At a Senior Level For At Least 2 Years. This Should Have Included

o   Proven leadership capability with experience in leading medium size teams.

o   Ability to manage 3rd Party contracts

o   Experience in dealing with external environment – statutory bodies, Trade Unions, Political Bodies & NGO’s/local communities

o   Project Management skills

o   Exposure to all the sub functions within supply chain

·        Understanding of the business environment, business practises, logistics markets and major local competitors

·        Strong leadership skills, specifically showing a wide range of interpersonal skills applicable in different situations with staff, internal peers and external contacts

Other Requirements (eg Travel, Location) Lagos Desirable criteria and qualifications
·         Technical Graduate with min 5 years’ experience in the petroleum/petrochemical/chemical industry of which the last 2 years should have been in a leadership role
