Plateau State Univeristy, Bokkos – The Governing Council of the
Univeristy has therefore decided in accordance with the Law Establishing
the University wishes to commence the processes for the appointments of
qualified candidates to fill position below:

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Plateau

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Registrar is Chief Administrative Officer and the custodian of the Laws/Statutes of the University.
  • He shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the overall administration of the University.

Qualifications

  • A good Degree from a recognized University or equivalent
    qualification plus at least Fifteen (15) years post qualification
    experience substantial part of which must have been in a University.
  • Possession of relevant higher Degree or postgraduate
    professional qualifications in the appropriate fields would be an
    advantage.
  • Must be on the rank of Deputy Registrar.

Tenure

  • The tenure of this Principal Officer of the University is a 5-year single term.

Remuneration and Condition of Service
The successful applicant will be placed on Consolidated Salary with
relevant fringe benefits, and will equally enjoy all allowances normally
attached to the position of Principal Officers of Nigerian
Universities.

Computer Literacy
Candidate must possess evidence of computer literacy and a demonstrable
ability in the use of computer and access to the internet.

Job Title: University Librarian

Location: Plateau

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The University Librarian shall be responsible to the
    Vice-Chancellor for the overall administration of the University
    Library, its branches and extension and for providing library services
    for the entire University community.

Qualifications

  • Not less than Ten (10) years teaching, research and or
    professional experience in a University, (for candidates with PhD) or
    fifteen (15) years teaching, research and or professional experience in a
    University for candidates with a Master’s degree.
  • Outstanding scholarly or research activity.
  • Evidence of exceptional teaching ability.
  • Some administrative experience in the Library
  • Scholarly publications (points to be awarded).
  • Clear evidence of continuing research.

Job Title: Deputy Librarian

Location: Plateau

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Deputy Librarian is responsible to the University Librarian
    and will undertake duties assigned to him by the University Librarian.

Qualifications

  • Not less than eight (8) years teaching, research and or
    professional experience in a University, an institution of University
    standing or comparable Institution.
  • Preferably a higher degree such as Masters or its professional equivalent.
  • A PhD degree with a minimum of 5 years of teaching, research and or professional experience in a University will be accepted.
  • Scholarly publications (points to be awarded to each),
  • Clear evidence or continuing research.
  • Outstanding scholarly or research activity.
  • Evidence of exceptional teaching ability.
  • Some administrative experience in the library

Job Title: Deputy Bursar

Location: Plateau

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Deputy Bursar is responsible to the Bursar and will undertake duties assigned to him by the Bursar.

Qualifications

  • A good degree in Accountancy with 15 years post qualification
    experience for B.Sc (Accounting) and 18 years experience for HND
    (Accounting).
  • Possession of post qualification experience in higher Institution and Professional qualifications will be an advantage.
  • By promotion to a Deputy Bursar with 3 years minimum experience as Chief Accountant

Job Title: Director, Works and Physical Planning

Location: Plateau

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Director of Works and Physical Planning is the Chief
    Technical Officer of the University and responsible to the Vice
    Chancellor for the day-to-day running and maintenance of University
    buildings, roads, water boreholes, electrical installations, equipment
    and other properties, including provision of services and utilities for
    the well being of the University.

Qualifications

  • Candidates for the post of Director of Works and Physical
    Planning must possess a good honours degree in Civil Engineering,
    Building, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Estate Management, Urban and
    Regional Planning or other related disciplines plus at least sixteen
    (16) years of cognate experience preferably in a University or in a top
    management position in any appropriate large organization.
  • Possession of a Master’s degree in related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • In addition, candidates must be fully registered member of
    relevant professional and statutory bodies such as Council for the
    Society of Engineers (NSE) and the COREN (for Engineers) ARCON and NIA
    (for Architects), QSRBN (for Quantity Surveyors), CORBON and MOB (for
    Builders) etc. Other elevations in the profession will and MOB (for
    Builders) etc. Other elevations in the profession will be an advantage.
  • Prospective candidates must demonstrate competence through
    experience, strategy etc to maintain a high level of discipline, prompt
    and adequate response system, prudence and strong accountability in the
    Works Department.
  • Prospective candidate will be expected to propose and discuss a
    plan for proactive maintenance culture for the University during the
    interview.
  • Prospective candidate must be proficient in ICT with demonstrable competence in computer aided designs and controls.

Job Title: Deputy Registrar

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Deputy Registrar is responsible to the Registrar and will undertake duties assigned to him by the Registrar.

Qualifications

  • A good honours degree from a recognized Institution or its
    equivalent, and at least 15 years post qualifications experience,
    substantial part of which must have been in a University or other
    comparable Institution(s) of higher learning.
  • Possession of relevant higher degree or postgraduate
    professional qualifications in the appropriate fields would be an
    advantage.

Job Title: Director of Audit

Location: Plateau

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Director of Audit is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor and will undertake duties assigned to him by the Vice-Chancellor.

Qualifications

  • A good degree in Accountancy with 15 years post qualification
    experience for B.Sc (Accounting) and 18 years experience for HND
    (Accounting)
  • Possession of post qualification experience in higher Institution and Professional qualifications will be an advantage.
  • By promotion to a Deputy Bursar with 3 years minimum experience.
  • Candidates must have professionally recognized Accountancy
    qualification ACMA, ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ICAN, CPA; plus 10 years and above
    experience.
