Job Title: Classroom Teacher – Primary School

Job Description

  • The headteacher will be responsible for planning, organizing and
    implementing the appropriate instructional program in an elementary
    learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and
    fulfill their academic potential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develops schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and
    enforcing rules and procedures. Maintain discipline in accordance with
    the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use an information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.

    Education with at least 3-5 years teaching experience in a good school
    environment.

Job Title: Registrar

Job Description

  • The Registrar shall be the Chief Administrative Officer of the
    University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day

Education and Qualification

  • A minimum qualification of a Masters Degree in Humanities from a
    reputable university. A doctorate degree (Ph.D.) will be an added

  • This position requires extensive experience of academic administration.
  • The candidate must have at least fifteen (15) years of
    post-qualification administrative/professional experience, five (5)
    years of which must be unbroken service in academic administrative
    capacity at a higher institution of learning (Preferably a private

Job Title: Bursar

Job Description

  • The Bursar shall be the Chief Financial Officer of the
    University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the
    day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the
    University.
  • He/She will be the Principal Officer of the University and,

    investments, revenue generation, as well as disbursement of funds.

Responsibilities

  • He/She shall advise the Council, Vice Chancellor, Deans and other officers on finance related matters.
  • Develop, implement and assess a computerized and manual
    financial and accounting management system, procedure and control
    systems.
  • Coordinate the development and update the University financial management plans.
  • Ensure the execution of annual audit of the university’s accounts in an efficient manner.
  • Monitor funds received from donors and other agencies to ensure
    that they are used for the specified projects and ensure required
    reports are submitted on time.
  • Coordinate the preparation of periodic income and expenditure,
    balance sheet and cash flow estimates and consolidation when necessary.
  • Scrutinize the University’s monthly income and expenditure and balance sheet variances against approved spending plan.
  • He/She shall ensure that accurate records are maintained of all local and foreign assets and liabilities held by the University.
  • Monthly monitoring of income and expenditure and balance sheet
    variance against the budgets and to ensure that they are rectified
  • Monitor and ensure the efficient and effective management of
    the fixed assets, working capital, receivables and payables of the
    university.
  • Monitoring treasury activities inducting cash flow projections and forecasts for prudence and variance.
  • Monitor Capital expenditure on projects, make returns to
    relevant authorities and comply with due process and other financial
    regulations.
  • Supervise and scrutinize the activities of the business ventures to be established by the University.
  • Negotiating with financial and government institutions with regard to financial matters.
  • Direct preparation of financial statements and ensure timely
    submission of the correct consolidated financial statement to the
    Council, Vice Chancellor and committees.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • He/she must have worked in a situation where he had to prove
    him or herself as capable of managing money against standard best
    accounting practices with a vision to build a new institution with
    minimal waste of funds and resources.
  • It will also be required of the candidate to be involved with
    asset management and with set fund raising initiatives, to make the
    institution financially viable in a short timeframe.
  • A high level of ICT Mastery and competency is also required for this position

Education and Qualification

  • The candidate must have must have garnered at least fifteen
    (15) years relevant post-qualification experience with a minimum of
    eight (8) years at management level; Five (5) years’ experience in the
    University system
  • Excellent credentials and professional training in financial management are requirements for this position.
  • The candidate must possess a good University Degree with a
    minimum of Second Class (Honors) in Accounting or related disciplines.
  • Preferred Candidate Must also be a fellow/member of any of the recognized professional bodies, like ICAN, ACCA
  • Advanced qualifications in Financial Management is a primary requirement for this position.
  • Qualifications in Asset Management and Financial Auditing can be advantageous.
  • He/She must be ICT compliant and must be conversant with current trends in Financial Reporting-IFRS, IPSAS
  • The Bursar must sign a Performance Contract and will be subjected to an annual Performance Appraisal.

Job Title: Vice Chancellor

  • The Vice-Chancellor shall be the principal Chief Academic officer of the University and Chairman of the Senate.
  • He/She will implement the policies of the University Council and
    to ensure that the University’s resources are used in ways that most
    effectively advance the approved mission and strategic plan of the
    University.

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and administrative leadership to the whole University.
  • S/He shall provide Leadership and Direction to the University
    through policy foundation, development and implementation to ensure

    with the university Law, Statutes, rules regulations, policies and
    procedures.
  • Exercise influence and advocacy on behalf of the University and
    its interests, through active engagement with external groups and

  • S/he shall by virtue of office be a member of the Council, the
    Senate, the Colleges, Schools, Institutes and any other authority of the
    university set up by the Senate and or any Board or Committee appointed
    by any of those bodies.
  • S/He shall be the principal officer of the university
    responsible to the Governing council for the organisation and conduct of
    the business of the university.
  • Lead the senior team of the Pro-Vice-Chancellors and the
    Registrar, personally monitoring their performance in pursuit of the
    University’s overall mission and for the fulfilment of policies
    established by the various governing and legislative bodies;
  • Ensure that the governance and administration of the University
    achieve the University’s objectives in a timely, inclusive and
    purposeful way.
  • Prepare annual estimates of income and expenditure in line with the provisions of the law and statutes of the university.
  • Exercise leadership to secure a sustainable financial base
    sufficient to allow the delivery of the University’s mission, aims and
    objectives and
  • Carry out ceremonial and civic duties.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have served in various roles in academic administration and other essential areas in a reputable university.
  • Academic and research exposure and connection to international reputable universities will be an added advantage.
  • A strong entrepreneurial sense, ability to lead and manage
    academic staff and other diverse categories of staff and students, based
    on positive moral values and interpersonal relationships are
    requirements for this position.
  • A high level of ICT Mastery and competency is also required for this position

Education & Qualifications

  • A doctorate degree (Ph.D.) is a prerequisite for this position
    and further qualifications in Management and/or Finances will be an
    advantage.
  • He/she must have been a full professor for at least 10 years
    with a track record of research outputs and academic publications in
    accredited Journals.
  • The Vice Chancellor must sign a Performance Contract and will be subjected to annual performance appraisal.
