- S/he will crowd-in funding to accelerate large-scale projects promoting regional integration and will strengthen the capacity of regional organizations.
- S/he will deliver on two flagship (FS) programs of the New Deal on Energy for Africa: FS12 – Transformative Partnership on Energy for Africa; and FS10 – Regional and Sub-Regional Project Acceleration Program.

- The Director will deliver on two flagship (FS) programs of the New Deal on Energy for Africa: FS1 – Standardized Independent Power Producer Procurement Program; and FS3 – Energy Efficiency Program.
