Job Title: University Librarian

Job Description


  • The University Librarian, a principal officer of the University,
    shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the good management of
    the University library and other library services in the University.


Qualification and Experience
The criteria to be satisfied by candidates for this post are as follows:

  • Must possess a good honours degree with a minimum of Second
    Class, Masters and PhD in Library Science, Library and Information
    Science or related field from a recognized University.
  • Must demonstrate academic excellence in quality publications, teaching and research, and credible community service.
  • He/she must be computer literate and show evidence of
    considerable scholarship and understanding of the application of new
    technologies to Library operations. Post-qualification experience in
    reputable University Library Comparable Institutions or research
    Institutions.
  • He/she must be a person with leadership qualities, high
    integrity and unquestionable character and an outstanding manager of men
    and resources.


Salaries and Conditions of Service
Salaries and Conditions of Service for University Librarian appointment
is made for fixed period of five (5) years only. The Salary is as
approved for University Librarian in Nigerian Federal Universities as
may be determined from time to time by Governing Council.






Job Title: Vice-Chancellor

Job Description


  • The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Academic and Executive Officer
    of the University, Chairman of Senate, Congregation and a member of
    Council.
  • He/she shall exercise general supervision over the University
    and shall have general responsibility to the Governing Council for
    maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order of the
    University, and it shall be the duty of the Vice-Chancellor to see that
    the provisions of the Law, statue, ordinance and regulations of the
    University are observed and he/she may exercise such powers as may be
    necessary and expedient for that purpose.


Qualification and Experience
Interested candidate for the position of Vice-Chancellor, Bauchi State University, Gadau shall be preferably:

  • Be distinguished scholar, who is a Professor with PhD and has the ability to provide excellent academic leadership.
  • Be a rank of Professor for not less than ten (10) years with at least 20 years of experience of lecturing in a University.
  • Must not be more than sixty five (65) years at the time of assumption of duty.
  • Have demonstrable ability to establish and maintain partnerships
    with local and international governmental and non-governmental
    agencies.
  • Possess the ability to sustain the existing harmony between
    staff and students, and between members of the University community and
    the host communities.
  • Possess the ability to sustain the existing harmony between

  • Be a person with a clear vision for the development of the University, even under resource constraints.
  • Be a successful scholar, who is well rooted in fitness academic tradition.

  • Exhibit entrepreneurial drive, ability to attract funds and mobilize other resources for the development of the University.
  • Be someone who appreciates and acts on merit and who will not give in to undue pressure.
  • Be of sound mental and physical health
  • Be morally sound and of unassailable integrity
  • Be prepared to demonstrate commitment to the University’s objectives and philosophy
  • Be computer-literate


Terms and Conditions
The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a single term of five (5)
years only on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the
letter of appointment.

 

Job Title: Bursar
Location:

Job Description


  • The Bursar is a principal officer, and in accordance with the University Act, the Chief Financial Officer of the University.
  • He is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-today good
    management, control of financial affairs and the provision of accounting
    services for the University.
  • Applicants for this position must be of impeccable integrity and
    transparency, professional distinction, and must command respect and
    engender loyalty of staff and students of the University.


Qualification and Experience
The criteria to be satisfied by candidates for this post are as follows:

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of second class honours degree
    in Accountancy from a recognized University plus full professional
    qualification such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA, CAN or ANAN with fifteen
    (15) years cognate working experience preferably in a University or
    similar institution.
  • Possession of relevant higher degree will be an added advantage.
  • The candidates must be computer literate and must have served in capacity not below the rank of Deputy Bursar.

Salaries and Conditions of Service for Bursar appointment is Bursar in
Nigerian Federal Universities as may be determined from time to time by
Governing Council.

Job Title: Registrar
Location:

Job Description


  • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative officer of the
    University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the
    day-to-day administration of the University except as regards to
    financial matters for which the bursar is responsible.
  • The Registrar is also the Secretary to the Council, Senate,
    congregation and convocation, candidates for the post shall be visionary
    and have the ability to provide good leadership, possess personal
    integrity and must not be more than fifty (50) years of age at the time
    of appointment.
  • The appointment is for the period of five (5) years.


Qualification and Experience
The criteria to be satisfied by candidates for this post are as follows:

  • Must possess a good honours degree from a recognized University, possession of master degree(s) is an added advantage.
  • Must have attained the rank of Deputy Registrar in a University.
  • Must have minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience preferably in University administration or tertiary institutions.
  • Must be computer literate and have a demonstrable competence in Information Communication Technology.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of current administrative principles, practices


Condition of Service
The conditions of service for the position of the Registrar are as
obtainable in Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined
from time to time by the University’s Governing Council.
