Job Title: Fixed Income Trader

Location: Lagos

  • A fixed income trader should be able to demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and technological skills.
  • He should have a deep interest in the financial markets and should be extremely well organized.
  • He should be able to work in high pressure work environment and within the given time constraints.
  • He should possess a high analytical aptitude, good judgmental and decision making skills.
  • He should have multitasking ability, should be able to manage his work according to priority, and should be comfortable to work independently as well as in a team environment.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Administer financial products and services such as foreign exchange and its various derivatives, customized investment and financial products as recommended by portfolio managers and analysts.
  • Monitor financial markets and provide update on market scenario and prepare reports to be submitted to portfolio analyst.
  • Provide adequate feedback to portfolio managers and analysts and develop market insights for fixed income clients.
  • Evaluate all existing investments and recommend new strategies to support operations staff.
  • Design all implementation strategies and recommend appropriate trade levels to customers.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients through regular visits.
  • Design and offer customized fixed-income products to clients as per financial abilities and interests.
  • Monitor and handle all trade breaks, cancels, corrections and resolve all issues for clients and organization.
  • Coordinate with senior managers to ensure compliance to all company procedure and policies.
  • Perform research on fixed income markets in various countries and analyze markets, tax implications, accounting procedures and local regulations.
  • Monitor entry into new markets by appointing custodians and sub-custodians to initiate business.
  • Perform all middle and back office operations as required.
  • Implement all trades activities and ensure strict compliance with company’s policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and implement all trades in fair and reasonable manner according to existing market conditions and company policies.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales and Systems personnel to ensure smooth processing and implementation of system changes.
