Job Title: Logistics Finance Analyst
Location: Lagos
Job Descriptions
- The candidate is to provide management with decision making support information on sales revenue,marketing, plant expenditure and operational performance, starting with preparation of the strategy /budget through to analysis of results against plan in timely and accurate manner in line with accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinates, collates and report on monthly stock and cash count activities at the depots.
- Ensures all head office vouchers and recoveries (Cash advance, prompt payment, etc ) are correctly coded and posted into the appropriate cost centre and are processed for payment in a timely manner.
- Reporting actual departmental costs versus budget and providing explanation for the variances.
- Collation of depot expense reports and bank reconciliation statements
- Support process and policy alignment project across the BU
- Follow up all outstanding actions from prior period audit.
- Depot costs/revenue analysis to determine each depot’s profitability
- The logistics analyst will ensure the application of key controls in the logistics function through risk assessment and compliance testing.
- Performs detailed analysis of Logistics performance highlighting variances to key performance indicators and undertakes review of freight reports to ensure consistency of information
- Provides input to the Logistics and BU performance management cycle including budget/ monthly & quarterly forecasts to ensure that the business objectives are reflected in the same.
- Challenge and ensure clear action plans are in place to ensure validity of the planning processes to deliver budget.
- Performance Improvement Plans & strategic plans for the BU.
- Ensures and follows up on Transporters payment and statutory payments within the logistics function
Qualification Required
- A degree in Sciences, Social Sciences or accounting related disciplines.
- 4 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a similar role.
- Good computer knowledge, exposure to an ERP environment and advanced reporting tools and very good knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
- High level of analytical and performance management skills and ability to pay attention to details.
