General Manager – Strategic Business Unit (SBU) at an International Holding Company

Trafalgar Recruitment – Our client is the International holding company for a group of entities that provide end-to-end platforms addressing process inefficiencies across multiple sectors of the African Economy. Our Client operates in the public and private sectors, providing solutions for suppliers / vendors.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager – Strategic Business Unit (SBU)

Location: Lagos (Role would require frequent travel to Abuja).
Job Type: Full Time

Position Description

  • Expand the business through the provision of consulting, technology deployment and implementation services to clients (both government and private) Interact at all managerial levels and be largely responsible for your own decisions.

Position Purpose

  • The General Manager is responsible for developing the strategy, empowering & inspiring the people, and controlling the financial resources to achieve company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Formulating and successfully implementing strategies targeted at the SBU’s 2020 goals
  • Directing the people and financial resources towards the profitable growth and operations
  • Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with Group CEO, Partners and Board to ensure that the SBU’s policies and plans are aligned with the overall Group’s vision.
  • Driving the SBU’s brand and reputation
  • Monitoring the operating and financial results against plans and budgets.
  • Taking remedial action where necessary and informing the board and Partners of significant change.
  • Assuming full accountability to the board for all company operations.
  • Owning and driving key relationships with Top Executives.
  • Building and maintaining an effective execution team within the SBU

Required Experience

  • Execution capacity: Ability to build teams, lead people and manage the implementation of complex projects
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques.
  • Experience building or working directly with a team or building a new unit or company
  • Over 10 years relevant work experience in progressive positions
  • A good technology background or relevant experience working in a technology company

Added Advantage:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position preferred.
  • An MBA or similar qualifications from a globally recognized institution.
