 Job Title: Admixtures System Technician
Location: Nigeria
Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be expected to take control of the quality of manufactured and finished products and to ensure quality control testing of raw materials, finished products in line with provided guidelines and specifications.
Operational duties will include the following:
  • Providing solutions to customer’s project requirements
  • Testing, logging & reporting of test results
  • Benchmarking against competition products
  • Introducing worldwide BASF technologies to the local market
  • Assist in training of customers, applicators, distributors or own BASF staff
  • Contributing to the resolution of customer complaints
  • Periodic quality assurance for used raw materials
  • Testing and approving new admixture’s raw materials
  • Ensuring safe work practices, handling of chemicals and “Responsible Care” principles are adhered to in all aspects of lab activities
Requirements
What we Expect:
  • High school Degree in Materials Science/Chemistry
  • 3 years of concrete testing experience
  • Knowledge of construction chemicals/materials testing, product development and construction and building practices
  • Analytical thinking and ability to grasp overall situations
  • Good time management

Job Title: Technical Manager- Construction Chemicals

Job Description

What you can expect:
  • The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain customer relationships as well as effectively and efficiently managing the staff and the activities of the Technical Department.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include the following:
  • Maintaining effective technical functions with specific expertise in the areas of product development/modification, customer service and quality management
  • Supervise and coordinate all technical laboratory work, field evaluations and production trials associated with such approved development projects and new products.
  • Assist in sourcing of new or alternative raw materials or alternative suppliers for existing raw materials
  • Ensure ongoing market intelligence (e.g. market demand, market shares etc.)
  • Ensuring customer complaints are dealt with in a prompt and efficient manner to maintain relationships
  • Assisting in the presentation of seminars, launches, demonstrations and training schools for clients and employees launches
  • Developing new products and support the development of new products that will enhance the company’s profitability
  • Ensuring safe work practices, handling of chemicals and “Responsible Care” principles are adhered to in all aspects of the company’s operations
  • Ensuring BASF product stewardship policy is understood and implement
Requirements
What we expect:
  • Degree in Materials Science/Engineering or Chemistry
  • Knowledge of construction chemicals/materials testing, product development as well as construction and building practices
  • Technical facilities management and general management
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a MNC environment, of which 3 years are in product development/engineering.
  • Ability to research and keep up to date with latest computerized communication techniques
  • Analytical thinking and ability to grasp overall situations
  • People management
