Job Title: Capacity Building Consultant

Location: Borno

Brief Background of Building Basics Initiative
BuildingBasics is a program geared towards strengthening the basic skills of IRC field staff. Our organizational strategy, IRC 2020, calls for the IRC to become an organizational and thought leader in the humanitarian industry. 

A variety of initiatives in both programs and operations are being rolled out to help the IRC reach our ambitious strategy, hence the need for strengthening of some basic skills which the Building Basic is all about

Qualifying learning categories include computer basics, Microsoft programs, project management, Stress Management, emotional intelligence, Leadership, Facilitation and communications.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong academic background in the field of application/Interest
  • Excellent oral and written skills of English Language
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively
  • Flexible to travel to remote locations
  • Previous experience on similar activity with other NGOs will be an additional advantage.


Qualifying Areas
We are requesting for consultants to send expression of interests with costs implication for the under listed trainings which will be undertaken in our Yobe, Mubi, Yola ,Maiduguri , Monguno and Gwoza field offices:

  • Computer Basics – including computer hardware and software basics; and how to access and use applications such as WebEx, Box, etc.
  • Microsoft Programs – including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook email and calendar
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Leadership and Management
  • Conflict Management
  • Stress Management
  • Project Management
  • Communication – including presentation and facilitation skills, effective communication and Report writing.

Note: Facilitators are expected to come up with measurement and Evaluation strategies to assess the outcome/impact of the training.
